Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

Not nearly as shit as the tactics of ETh.

The guys at BBC can apply for the United job.

I think the transfer request is essentially the final straw these days. Player basically says “I want out and I’m willing to leave money on the table to get my move”.

Clubs don’t have to accept but depending on how much money that is and how badly they’d like it to look like they did all they could, they can and do sometimes ask players to submit that.

If Isak is now skipping training Newcastle could well fine him but there’s a limit to how much they can do that even if he’s just not showing up. Asking him to put a transfer request in basically is them concerning they’ll let him go providing he gives up something in return.

Ben Foster did a video on this fairly recently.

It’s missing our best player ffs

Usually, by the 4th year of the contract, if he doesn’t signs an extension, he is more than likely to go to the white spanish cunts. By the time it reaches to the penultimate year, the resale value will dip by a fair lot even if he wins everything that has to be won in English and European football.

By the penultimate year, we will make a profit but we would not be able to maximise the value that we can get.

He’ll already be 32 by then.

There’s a whole lot of difference there

A player can go on strike or go AWOL like what Isak is allegedly doing but it will warrant suspension of pay as well.

An official transfer request like how some have mentioned here is the waiver of loyalty bonuses which can be very very substantial.

An official transfer request is able to split the dressing room given how much Isak have for being the top player in the club…

Fuck all that , Isak is a Liverpool player.

I’m allowed to be excited by that.

Which is largely meaningless if the club is determined not to sell you.

But if a player goes on strike it does more to create a problem for the club’s management than submitting an ‘official’ transfer request, and so more likely to bring them to the table to negotiate a solution.

If the owning club are unwilling to sanction a transfer following an ‘unofficial transfer request’ then it’s not going to make a difference. It’s there for either appearance sake or as part of getting an agreed deal done.

I don’t see how it would have any impact in this regard, certainly not more than from going on strike?

From a contract law perspective a club is entitled to take the position that a player going on strike to force a move amounts to a transfer request, with all the consequences that entails.

Often, that position is then formalised as part of any subsequent transfer agreement.

Which should allow us to bargain down to the extent of said ‘loyalty’ bonus. So the trite sum of 127m pounds it is.

What’s the point in Newcastle getting £150m if they can’t spend it? I just don’t see them bringing in two strikers good enough in the time left for them to sell Isak.

There is more than enough time for them to bring in a couple of strikers - the English transfer window isn’t shutting until 7pm on 1 September. Presumably they have a list of potential targets already to work on.

They aren’t just looking at that though are they?

Time isn’t the primary issue though for a club who have struggled to land their targets. The fact Ekitike and Gyokeres have both already gone by this point in the window does complicate it, but their biggest issue continues to be getting the people they are interested in to be open to joining them. I think that is where the change in backroom personnel is probably making it difficult as they appear to changed their focus to players more in demand…players more well known and easy to identify…and that probably reflects a loss of expertise behind the scenes

I bet they take Nunez on loan with an option to buy. Furthermore, I bet that he then goes on to score at least 15 league goals (fitness permitting).

Yeah, this is what I am assuming is the crucial issue for them - and the money side of things

Unless the loan fee is absolutely whopping (aka 30m with another 20-30m to sign), no thank you.

7 of which will be chalked off for offside …

I could definitely see Nunez going to Newcastle as one of their two new strikers. Sesko and Nunez. Could ruffle a lot of feathers and do some damage in the Prem.

Let’s examine the Nunez part of the deal. So far we have been unable to sell Nunez. We could have sold him to Napoli, but we have a minimum price in mind and they were trying it on. I still think the Saudis will come in for him this window, possibly even other clubs, but we don’t know that.

What Nunez did to Newcastle with those two goals will linger in their memory. Their fans will know the lad can play, even if Isak is the better player.

It will sting them to see Isak go, but all signs are pointing in that direction. We will want to do something to smooth relations and keep the heat from boiling over. We will pay a record fee for Isak, which I expect will be £130M + £10M.

And if they are a striker short, after having signed Sesko, I could see them being interested in Nunez. Even if they wanted to do a loan deal, with a view to buy, not least to retain some pride and some control on their dealings, I think we would sanction it.

And then yes, put me down for 15+ goals for Nunez for Newcastle too, fitness permitting.

Just speculating, but they could have Sesko and Nunez for the Isak money and start to move forward. The Isak situation is getting toxic and needs breakthrough.

Sounds like Man U are all-in on Sesko.

Perhaps Newcastle will look towards Jackson or Mateta?
