Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

A different take now.

This is reminding me of Van Dijk’s drawn out transfer. I think we might just sign him in January too. Plans may change depending on how well the defense copes I suppose.

Personally I recon this is a tactic by Newcastle so they aren’t over charged for players they are attempting to bring in. Once they have their replacement players over the line Isak will then be allowed to leave

The situation is a complete mess.

I’ll believe that Newcastle won’t sell when the window closes.

Unlikely, as any club they are negotiating with will still be looking for a premium assuming that they are selling Isak to us.

Nah, we’re getting the lad.

More like Konoplyanka’s. Club management open to selling , club’s owner refusing. Southampton were open to selling Virgil that summer but got upset at how we managed to prevent the bidding war they were looking for.

Probably the same VVD thing which is happening here. We’ve convinced Isak that we’re the club he wants to be at.

Meanwhile , get the Guehi deal done and then wait till newcastle blink at the Jan window. It’s never easy for a club to continue to field an unsettled player.

I feel like when Luke Edwards reports something, there’s a decent chance that the opposite is true.

He’s been fed so much oil that he’s shitting bricks at the moment. Not even sand.

I trust Indykaila much more than Luke Edwards.

I do think there is a disconnect between the owners and Howe. He wants to sell him and have it over and done with but the owners are saying he’s not for sale. Howe will have to deal with an unhappy player and also it will have an affect on the team and the season. I’m sure he wants a couple of strikers but the owners aren’t going to buy him one who could replace Isak. It’s why I think Wissa will drag on until close to the end of the window as well. They’ve got an excuse already prepared.

Calm down look at the person who sent it and check online first if he works for the paper and second that the editor has allows him to write BS. to be genuine he has to be a Newcastle ITK or a pal of Howe.

Wissa isnt meant to be an Isak replacement but someone to play alongside him. So that shouldnt affect the speed of that deal.

And, if anything, Isak’s sidelining should encourage them to close a signing like Wissa more quickly so they have him ready to start the season.

I’ve tried to map it out in my mind what we might do if Isak doesn’t sign.

I think he will sign, late in the window, but just in case that doesn’t happen, what will we do?

My best guess is we will line up a late loan move for Rodrygo, with an option to buy. He will add depth, quality and versatility, while we can see if there is a chance for Isak in January.

Would that be a possibility, are Madrid just concerned with his wages?

If he doesn’t sign this summer , we can wait till the Jan window.

In the meantime , the CB reinforcement(s) needs to happen.
