Alexander Isak (CF) Newcastle

Someone might trip over him when he is on the ground though?

We are better than them. I expect us to win.

I expected us to win the Cup final too, even on a downer after PSG, but they had the bit between their teeth that day.

I expect similar on their part, possibly even more determination and a few flying tackles because of Isak. We have to match it, and if so we should win.

Yup…After this whole saga, no promising and ambitious young talent under 25 years old would want to join NUFC without a realistic release clause written in the contract. That’s the only way how NUFC can market themselves now…

I will guarantee you we will get the usual suspect referee and VAR combination, we won’t be able to lay a glove on them and they will have the freedom of Newcastle to dismantle our forwards.
We had the same treatment in the last derbies and our players were mercilessly hacked with impunity.

Er… Why are Newcastle fans pissed off at us ?

We made our point clear. We have bid xxxx amount.

If the player is downing tools to move to us , it’s not our problem. And not our problem that you can’t convince him to stay till a bigger club comes calling. Totally different point that there is only one other club bigger than us and they’ve got their attacking division sorted.

If anything, we’ve managed to get a respectable bid on paper.

There are enough liverpool fans gloating and being dicks about Newcastle that if the tables were turned we’d be being pretty salty about it as well. I think we as a club seem to be handling this with the delicacy a situation like this requires, and demonstrating why we have reputation for being a fair party to deal with. But fans dont react to that sort of thing, especially as so much of it is hidden. They respond to the online Bantz and the attempts of one group to dunk on another.

Yep…
We are so gracious about Real Madrid robbing our players.
Of course the Newcastle supporters will be annoyed. Its how the world plays out.

Torres and Sterling. We reacted the same way when they forced moves. Coutinho’s glass back didn’t go down well either.

I misread Tori Spelling…and I said WTF?! :man_facepalming:

To be fair, there are huge signs that Torres was on a severe decline and Coutinho’s play style didn’t quite fit what Klopp wanted. I personally didn’t mind them leaving.

Sterling was just a sale at a time when the club was vulnerable…That one grated a bit but the club did turn a huge profit on him…

True, but none of us liked the way all three behaved to get their moves. I’m probably understating that.

Its a football fans prerogative to have double standards when it effects them differently its in the football fans handbook.

There’s a lot of truth in this!

If we sign Isak I will be delighted. The shenanigans of the past few weeks will be filed under the tawdry business of football. Isak will be viewed as a player who did not get what was owed, relations therefore soured with his club, and we moved in for one of the best strikers in the business.

If it is a player who is leaving us, they are a snake.

It is what it is :joy:

I don’t think there is much of a ‘pursuit’ going on. It appears that Liverpool have just backed off and said to Newcastle ‘you let us know when you are ready to talk’.

Everything that is going on is between Newcastle and Isak.
