Monaco should hold firm on the price agreed.
And if Real don’t complete the deal they negotiated, that’s their lookout.
As ever, Liverpool will be just fine, no matter what happens to Tchouameni.
I have seen some shouts for keeping our powder dry and going for Bellingham next summer. Like everyone else, I would love Bellingham here, but I think we really need to add a midfielder this summer. We have plenty of bodies, but age and niggly injuries are creeping in there. We need another midfielder this summer, especially if we want to carry on being a club that fights hard on all fronts.
He wants to go to Real, that is fine,Klopp has made it pretty clear he doesn’t want players who don’t want to be here,as it should be.
We don’t need him as things stand!
To be fair I would not pay 80mil Euros for him too. I would again see him in the 40-60mil Euros range that most of our high potential ready to step into first team players, not dissimilar to Jota, Fabinho, Diaz etc
The only 2 players that we paid a significant amount over that range is VVD and Alisson and that’s because it’s 2 players I think we absolutely must have. Not Tchouameni though.
I think part of the issue is Monaco’s unusual tax situation. They seemingly thought this sale would be tax clear, but are now being told otherwise so want additional funds to cover the tax bill on top.
You started my coughing fit.
We are not a bitters club or Real Madrid. We will get a better player. I can’t wait for us to beat Real Madrid when he is in their team.
