Bradley Barcola (LW/RW) PSG

Gakpo won’t do that because he cant drag players across to mark or double Mark him.

He’s a good reliable forward , but he can’t pull players to Mark him , even if the ball is played to him , most teams are comfortable knowing he really has one major cut inside and shoot weapon in his armory. Which isn’t enough.

And the lack of creating space for Isak is because the opposition knows that they would have to double Mark isak and Gakpo doesn’t mandate the same level of threat to them.

Indeed and he hasn´t got the explosive pace or trickery to get round full backs and stretch teams to create opportunities and space that way.

And yep, with his cut in and shoot move he´s bringing players into traffic and he´s not getting his head up to make the pass for others. He also doesn´t link well with his full back.

Can get some goals as he´s a good finisher but I don´t think it´s quite enough on its own.

I think these are things that Barcola would solve and bring.

At his current playing position, there’s nothing he offers.

As a striker in a 442. Probably a backup striker. Which them leads to whether we should be doing better in that front anyway , considering Ekitike is injured pretty badly.

I don’t like the price for Barcola. But depending on which tactics Iraola decides to use , he can prove to be very useful.

I don’t blame Gakpo for going to his standard cut in and shoot move. That’s what any goalscorer should do , but he’s being played in the wings.

For me it´s probably too much money and I would buy somebody cheaper and use the rest of the money elsewhere.

But realistically Barcola is top 3 wide players we could possibly buy for a fee we would pay

We need a CB , RB and CDM.

Much more higher priority propositions for me.

I do think we desperately need a wide player. But if it´s 120 mil then I think it´s eating into the money we need and our ability to strengthen for the positions you mentioned.

I am wondering if we could get away with right back, using Jones or Szobo until Bradley is fit, but it would risky. Probably not wise. Also assumes Frimpong is a non factor.

I stoped reading after that.

Frimpong counts as homegrown, and we are lacking in that front.

Possibly makes more sense playing as a wide midfielder or a RW than as a RB though.

He does but none of us seem to be really consider him as good enough to be RB, which says quite a lot. Already as you say, we think more RW (though not good enough to start)

If we did, we could get away with not buying an RB I reckon.

Even after signing Barcola, I think RW would be far from nailed down.

Must have been good stuff, share the secret,I need it,!:beer_mug:

If the Barcola move goes ahead, how are we with our non-homegrown limit? Obviously, Mo and Robbo left at the end of last season, but are we going to have to move on Chiesa, Endō or someone else?

We’ll be on 19 foreign players then including Ekitike, who I guess won’t be registered until January. For CL registration that is. 17 for domestic registration, as Leoni and Jacquet both go as u21 players.

Alisson, Mamardashvili, Virgil, Leoni, Jacquet, Kerkez, Tsimikas, Ramsay, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac, Endo, Wirtz, Munoz, Isak, Gakpo, Chiesa, Barcola, Ekitike (19)

I still expect some further changes to that 19.

So do I. But it’s still changes that has to be made, and maybe not that straightforward to actually get it done.

Thanks.

I save the nonsense for the last week of the transfer window.
