Absolutely fleece them. Do to them what other clubs do to us. Stay strong on £100m, not €100m. They want to weaken us, so let’s at least make a hefty financial profit in order to be able to reinvest that money in one or two other quality players. £100m would almost pay the Barcola deal.
Oh, and tell them that the deal is for January, not now.

This is very unlike me, but I say fuck it - pull the band aid off. This possibility doesnt exist because he is unhappy and forcing it. It is exists because we saw a path to it benefiting us and he is just playing his part. If we’ve got a new vision where his face doesnt fit then lets throw everything at it and give Iraola as much of the team that he needs as soon as possible and let it start marinating.

If we get Sarr… is he really going to stand-in for Isaac (Isak) when the injury curse strikes, or would you rather we had Gakpo at the ready… If Gakpo produces the goals playing as a number 9, by all means drop Isaak (Isak) or shove him out to the RW…
Look beyond the transfer fee for Isaac (Isak), look beyond what he did elsewhere, we have got a guy that is low on confidence, possibly been broken by the Sandcastle fans, and I for one, have no qualms of seeing him dropped or moved to RW in his present state, as opposed to any proven goalscorer in another life…
For what it’s worth, I hope Isaak (Isak), does produce the goods, but what are we going to give him, another season of stop and starts, if’s and maybe’s… If this ends up being the scenario, I won’t be the only one calling for him to be replaced.. Simples

Definitely a good thing if the alternative was signing Minteh or Sarr.
Now we can wait until January and see if a standout right wing option emerges.
One risk is that we can no longer find buyers for Gakpo in January, but ah well.

Happy enough with him staying given the alternatives seemed to be an injured Minteh or an overpriced Sarr.
But can’t help but wonder what’s gone on here and how we now set up. Basically all our wingers would prefer to be on the left and to get Gakpo and Barcola on the pitch together one is going to need to play on the right or up top.
Places a lot of burden on Rio too, even if he’s seen as fourth option he’s going to need to be playing 60-90 minutes across two games every week. Lot for a young lad to take on.
