If we were buying a midfielder and a right back, that would be enough for this one window.
Pleased heās staying. Hes still able to carry a threat. Already scored and assisted this season.
Even if we do bring in a RW this window, losing Gakpo would not be good in terms of a player with experice and decent qualities being lost. Heck, we might see a return to his form having more rotation and being used more effectively as he was during our title winning season under Slot.

I think some of the āhe has been our best playerā stuff has over cooked it, but I dont think he was any less effective on the right last time out than he was against Newcastle on the left. If we considered that an audition for the RW spot I think he did fine to make it a reasonable option. He needs to improve and up his intensity some, but thatās a learning curve theyāre pretty much all on (probably all bar Munoz).

If or whenever he becomes lethal in front of goal, then I stand to be corrected about himā¦ until that day arrives, if ever, he is going to slow down our progress as a winning unitā¦
Well exactly, thatās what I mean. Weāve barely seen Gakpo on the right in his entire time here. Doesnāt mean he canāt but even when Salah was stinking the place out or over at the AFCON we never saw Gakpo fill in on the right.
I guess itās just this seasonās square peg for a round hole.
I was cool with Gakpo staying and Barcola arriving.
So all good.

So lets follow your train of thought through. Heās low on confidence so we should drop him until he becomes lethal in front of goal again.
How exactly do you build his confidence and improve his goal scoring from the bench? And just who are you playing at CF instead during this masterplan?
Wouldāve preferred he was sold which wouldāve allowed us to balance our forward options or maybe go for a DM, but it is what it is, heāll just have to play 2nd fiddle to Munoz, even if playing on the right negates his one trick.

Firstly, you might need to take your snide hat off and re-read the original post without wearing itā¦ there is no need for that type of slant in your replies
The post was about having Gakpo at the ready, as opposed to Sarrā¦ because, looking at the scoring ratio of Gakpo, whether coming in from the wing, or arriving in the centre for a tap-in, is the best proven goal ratio we have available at the momentā¦
If it is goals we need, and Isak is not doing the business, then I for one, erring on the side of caution, would question whether Isak is ever going to become the Isak we thought we were buyingā¦ Hence, move him to the RW (where fickle fans like me will be more sympathetic towards him and his current form), or take him out of the firing line altogether, by putting him on the bench to gather his thoughts and build some fire in his belly.
The low confidence comment, was commingled amongst other possible reasons why he has not displayed past goal scoring gloriesā¦ one of the other possible concerns within the original post, was that the Sandcastle fans might have broken himā¦ In short, NONE of us know how much of a negative impact that trauma and consequent on-line abuse has impacted upon his mental state, OR, his ability to regain his past formā¦
All in all, the original post was referring to the Sarr in - Gakpo out scenarioā¦ If Gakpo stays, the only other position I can see him being productive in, is the CF role, currently being occupied by a player that is obviously struggling to regain his past formā¦
My concern is for LFC to keep moving forward in a positive way. That means picking points up every chance we getā¦ If a guy, whoever they may be, is under performing, for whatever reasons shall we say, then he becomes a problem to himself, the fans, the club that pays his wages etc, but a problem that needs a solutionā¦
Isak is not the only player at the moment that is struggling, we all know that, but in the context of Sarr Vrs Gakpo debate, Isak was referenced because he occupies the only other slot that Gakpo, and his talent for putting the ball over the line, could possibly occupyā¦

Youāve now explained and so thatās fine. I canāt agree that the best plan for your Ā£125m CF who has yet to fire as hoped is to drop him or play him out of position. And in his place play a guy who has also flattered to deceive in that role.
Like it or not Isak is going to be the figurehead of the attack. Weāre not moving on from him after one season disrupted by the lack of pre-season, untimely injuries and a shite tactical set up. Iraloa has been brought in to make it work. That may take some time but it will require sticking with Isak.

Cody Gakpo spent the last 10 minutes of the Forest game on his feet in the dugout as #LFC tried to find a winner. He was the first one over to the 4th official at FT. Heās not tried to agitate for a move, despite all the noise. I really do hope people get behind him this season.

Delighted for Cody that heās staying and everyone will be behind this guy who has contributed massively over the past three seasons. Iām looking forward to seeing what more he can do on the right wing and dishing out the humble pie to his detractors. Iāve stated he will have his best season under Iraola and Iām sticking with that.
