Darwin NUNEZ: 2023/24

I hope he nuts Pep at Anfield.

Sick of Klopp and Pep scissoring each other every time we play them.

Good header early on that produced a nice save from Ederson. He is full of threat but the goal didnā€™t come today. A draw away at Man City is a decent result, considering all the circumstances.

And I was glad he got stuck into Guardiola at the end too. It was all managed well enough, with Klopp escorting Darwin away and Lijnders keeping Pep at bay, so there was no ban or anything like that, but I am certain that Darwin gave him a good ear full.

Good lad. Guardiola thinks he walks on water, and there should be no respect for him from anyone at Liverpool. Cordiality as necessary, fine. But respect? Nope. The cheat.

Nah I hope he scores the winner that will boil the coke heads piss far more effectively

Why Dont We Have Both GIF

Because Iā€™d rather our players not miss 5 games.

And thatā€™s what the coke head would want, scoring and running up to Klopp with a finger to the lips in the direction of Pep should be enough.

Well, that is relentlessly sensible.

Whenever I criticise a Liverpool player this season, he gets injured, so Iā€™m really doing my best not vent all my frustration with Nunez. About a year and a half later, I still donā€™t see how he can become a reliable striker of top class quality for this Liverpool team.

Iā€™m fully aware that heā€™s improved in some key aspects of the way Klopp wants his team to play but whenever I see him presented with a good chance to score, my mind says ā€œnahā€ - and ā€œnahā€ it very often is, which wouldnā€™t be that big a problems if goals werenā€™t the key metric heā€™s judged upon.

When Salah ultimately leaves, someone will have to score those goals - if Nunez is the one Klopp relies on to take the bigger chunk of that burden, Iā€™ll have to enlist the services of a therapist.

Important involvement for Trentā€™s winner.

In the grand scheme of things, itā€™s still a work in progress.

Heā€™s obviously a good player, but that might not be enough long term here. Even if he improved this season, the work doesnā€™t stop here. Like Klopp said, it needs to start from here (ie: this season).

Today, a few moments aside, I didnā€™t have much problems with his performance. Thought there were other players who did less. Was unlucky with that bar and a few lazy offsides, but worked very hard and offered himself constantly.

Easiest chance missed today was Mo at the end blasting over the rebound and I dont see the criticism of him. Once youā€™ve developed a reputation for missing chances it seems not only is the only thing some people start looking for in your game, but youre judged on them to srandards others arent in theirs.

Strange, very strangeā€¦

One of few players who worked his socks off until the end tonight.

I like him. He offers an outlet all day long, and his pace and strength occupy defenders. I thought he was very unlucky with the one off the bar today. A few more goals would be nice, but Iā€™m backing this lad to keep going and the goals will come. Heā€™s fine.

I read this and the Salah threads and I wonder at the same time with the amount we are creating how bad we are actually playing.

We arenā€™t playing badly. Perhaps we are too disjointed and too slow at times but we are creating more than enough.
