Darwin NUNEZ: 2023/24

As un-Liverpool as it sounds , it might have been a case of second best after Haaland went to City.

We need to slightly adjust how we play to get the best out of him or if we are not prepared just sell him to Newcastle or Chelsea.

So this week the forum is either complaining that we have no depth or complaining that anyone not starting should be sold.

Why Dont We Have Both GIF

Thatā€™s what Poch is up to over at Chelsea.

The perfect striker.

Will always love this man.

We keeping him now?

Gakpo playing ahead of him as a 9 is pathetic. Nunez has so much more ability.

Must stay, must play. Absolute beast.

Absolutely 100%.

Gakpo will be 100% top of the shop next week.

Itā€™s why you need choices because strikers go in and out of form.

I felt Jota was the stand out until Nunez came on.

We were shit with the ball for most the game. Jota started finding spaces that allowed us to play those incisive passes forward we hadnā€™t been able to up until then.

Why canā€™t we just keep all of them and use them as and when we need them?

Always has to be extremes on here, one player is good so the other has to be shit.

Gakpo might wll get the start next week, but it will be on merit, on the opposition and how theyā€™ve done in training. But he wonā€™t be starting every game this season.

And thatā€™s why you have a squad. Nunez is a monster and he will get plenty of minutes this season.

Exactly our strikers will go in and out of form.

Gakpo just isnā€™t as threatening as Nunez, no matter what other arguments are made. The difference between the two is huge.

If Klopp canā€™t get Nunez to work he has failed. Unbelievable performance tonight.

Nerveless finishing, especially the first one in off the base of the postā€¦Fowleresque!

He isnā€™t, but those other arguments are important. For most of the time they have both been here, Gapko has looked a far better fit for what we need and often been among our best players. However, this season heā€™s started poorly and even today in his favoured role failed to really impact the game. Itā€™s the sort of turn of events where when there other good players waiting for their chance that you tend to lose your positions so if that happens now for the next game no one can complain.

The other factor is whether the increased technically quality of Szobo and Mac higher up the pitch (assuming Mac isnt used as a 6 anymore) changes the needs of the striker? Do we need a false 9 style striker dropping deep to link play if weā€™ve already got those guys more than happy to find those spaces and play from there? Does that change the profile of what we need out of the striker?

Gakpo has played against lesser teams, is all.

Nunez is a much better player. Like I said, itā€™s up to Klopp to work it out.

Iā€™m also drunk and biased towards Nunez. He is much better than Gakpo. So there.

Gakpo, Nunez, Jota, Diaz, Salahā€¦ theyā€™re all really good and all important for us to have a good season.

Gakpo is neither a forward nor a midfielder
Nunez is too erratic
Jota is a squad player
Diaz has no end product
Salah has been wank since AFCON.

Stop watching all those youngsters and get with the TAN agenda!

Heā€™s a fucking unit. Just feed the ball to him.

True.

Nunez is better than Gakpo, though.
