They would have definitely turned him into shit, I can see that. Grain of truth
Reddit thinks theyve got his flight, currently over the Bay of Biscay - arrives at chester in an hour
That fact that Benfica have confirmed it means tracking flights etc is no longer really as exciting.
So who next?
Was it ever exciting in the first place?
Behind all this noise there might be something else going on!
Flight tracking is always exciting
Bring back the Babelcopter, those you can’t find on any radar.
More so, these things crash into sea, f*ck them.
Oh damn. That incident was shocking.
Anyway , if it’s the plane being tracked it’s somewhere close to shrewsbury
Opposition fans are clearly concerned that he’s going to be a hit or they wouldn’t be talking about him so much.
I have no idea if he’ll hit the ground running like Mo or Mané, but fortunately he doesn’t have to as we can start the season with Diaz, Bobby/Jota and Salah and have the luxury of introducing him when Klopp thinks he’s ready.
thats the theory going round
This seems to go through then? It’s a lot of money, but I trust Kloppo and our scouting team to have done their homework on this lad. If they think that he’s worth £65m + £20m bonuses, then so be it.
This confirms of course Mané’s exit, which makes me really sad. But at least, we’ll replace his physicality upfront, as this lad seems to be a unit in that regard.
Really looking forward to see him in action now, and discover what all the fuss is about him.
Has that flight landed yet?
See below;
Were you just setting yourself up there, or genuinely unsure?
Don’t care what he costs, don’t care what he did at Benfica, don’t care what other fans say. I only care about what he does from today.
He’s huge shoes to fill in that front three and potentially his signing changes that shape and approach so the bar is pretty high in terms of expectations.
However, it’s super fun seeing our club go out and get a big marquee player. I know we’ve been great shopping in that next tier down but this really does feel like quite the statement (although I’m sure the club aren’t fussed by being seen to be big players in the transfer market).
Haaland aside Nunez is probably the next most promising and exciting number 9 out there and he’s coming to us. Don’t think I’ve felt that kind of excitement since Torres arrived.

Is he a big marquee player? It is a sizeable fee but I’d never heard of him before a few months ago, so I am a little surprised at some of the noises around this deal. To me a marquee player would be much bigger established name.
Airwolf? Damn I loved that programme.

I’d say the fee alone makes him one.
But back half of last year the clamour from some fans to see their teams go after him showed his stock was rising. Look around some of the news outlets and you could see the stories trickling in about the calibre of clubs looking at him and then he’d crop up on lists of ideal transfer targets or promising players on the cusp of taking a step up this summer. And quite clearly United were after him too.
The whole “marquee” or “statement” signing thing is a bit of a nonsense anyway so it doesn’t really matter. But for me it feels like when we signed Torres who at the time was one of the most promising forwards in the world and one of the biggest deals in the league that summer.
We’re losing Mane. But we’ve not gone out and signed Sarr from a relegated Watford, Adeyemi from the Austrian league, Danjuma the Bournemouth flop from Villareal or Pedro Neto from Wolves as his replacement. We’ve gone with one of the top young forwards in world football. Feels like a marquee kind of deal to me.
