Diogo Jota (LW) Wolves

I saw that one of the factors was Wolves willingness to accept a very long payment structure. That upfront we are going to only pay 10% in the first 12 months. So that also means the Hoever would have paid for that this year. I think our club is willing to invest but unwilling to spend more than what they think they can earn within this season. This also means they believe that the following season once if fans start coming back, finances should be better and that is why they are willing to spend this amount, just not willing to pay for it this season.

Knowing my boy Mike we’re probably paying him off 1 Pound a day for the next 45,000,000 days…

Curtains for Brewster and Origi i think.

If he makes the starting XI, I see him playing a more central role and being a counterfoil to Bobby in that regard. Maybe we push Bobby down to playing in the midfield more, not that our midfield ain’t stacked already.

Otherwise, He’s going to feature heavily in matches when we need a direct attacking option. There’s a nice little player there who knows how to run at defenders and has good finishing skills to boot too. He also seems good shooting from both the feet, which is always good to have.

I just love how he finishes so neatly with either foot. It makes him unpredictable and even more dangerous on the attack!

Liverpool have really declared their INTENT to Defend the CROWN!! Watch out Premier League!

Edwards has done it again! LFC have reloaded and are deeper and more talented than ever! YNWA!

What a TIME to be ALIVE!!:heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Unlike Wolves, Leipzig weren’t as flexible with the Werner fee.

We are only paying £10m upfront for Jota.

Bobby, Mane, Mo, Minamino, Jota, Elliot looks like a very decent attacking option.

Hendo, Thiago, Gini, Fab, Keita, Ox, Milner and Jones looks like a vert decent midfield option. I think Ox and Milner will be off next season here.

Robbo, VVD, Gomez, TAA, Kostas, Matip and Neco looks very decent defence except a CB short.

Alisson and Adrian are decent enough GK options.

Total out list this window either via sell/loan Karius, Clyne(gone), Lovren(gone), Nat, Larouci, Grujic, Ejaria, Lallana(gone), Wilson, Origi, Shaq, Woodburn, Ojo, Taiwo. Brewster and Hoever are surprise addition to this list.

If we add a CB to Kostas, Thiago and Jota, looks like we want to compete on multiple fronts.

‘Problem’ is - if this lineup is a success there is no ‘room’ for Mbappe or Sancho next summer.

  • min £30m of the Jota will be paid next summer which makes it more difficult to spent next summer.

If we’re going in for Mbappé, it’ll be because one of Mo, Sadio, or Bobby are being sold, IMO.

Bobby, Mo, Mane all are 28 years old. Jota and Minamino are 23 and 24. Elliot is 17 year old. Ideally we are set for next 4 years. But we can’t replace Bobby, Mo and Mane in one window on the 4th year - so we may need to get 1 or 2 in the 3rd and 1 or 2 in the 4th year. Next 2 years, I don’t think we will go to the market for an attacking option, unless something else happens.

But we haven’t spent 65 million in 2 days in a lump sum technically in 2020 we have spent 9 million.

4 million 10 % of the fee.

Wages won’t be anywhere near Werner’s and, by all accounts, Leipzig wanted the whole sum up front whereas we are paying Wolves the proverbial packet of Wotsits this year for Jota.

Was there ever a true link between LFC and Werner?

Did Klopp say some nice words about him when asked? Sure. But he has nice words about every single footballer he’s asked about. I remember he was gushing with praise for Ibra when asked once about him when he and the world knows Ibra is a bit if a dick head and not someone he’d ever let next to his team.

The only thing that I saw linking Werner and LFC was Werner himself. He was absolutely desperate to come here. We weren’t interested. The fee and wages are irrelevant.

That’s how I see it

Werner is shite. So is the other jackoff from the Hipsterliga.

I’ll take Thiago and wee Jota every day.

So in basic, we are going to pay the majority of the price when (hopefully) the COVID crisis is under control and the fans are back at Anfield. What’s not to like about Edwards?

Good to see we are not starting still like last season while everyone around us upgrades. :grinning:

That’s a fair point.

Pearce is reporting that our main target was Sarr but the payment structure wasn’t doable because Watford wanted more cash up front and they wanted a higher fee - rising to 50M.

Leipzig wanted the majority of the transfer fee upfront whereas Wolves have accepted us paying only ~10% of the fee. Similar story with Watford and Sarr.

The overall price of the deal is still the same but the initial outlay is only £4m. They’re taking a calculated risk that in two years time we will be back to normal and able to pay off the rest.

Anfield Wrap saying this is done but not seen a confirmation anywhere?
