Divock Origi (FW) to Wolves

Fixed it for you - given they’ve been largely screwed over with Benteke and Sakho.

And lets face it divock only was bought on the basis of potential after his world cup show with belgium. His loans haven’t yielded good benefits and at best he is a impact substitute …

Any money that we get has basically to do with him getting on beastmode and winning us the champions league

Klopp has managed him well and with his CV , he should be getting a decent club , just dont think premier league is his forte but then apart from the clutch goals and performances vs the bitters , what is ?

He hasnt clicked on after signing a new contract post the champions league.

Sakho has been alright for their level i think. Benteke was the big blunder

I pretty much agree, there are many other strike force options out there in world football.

That said, maybe a club sees Div in a different role to how he’s deployed here. The article mentions Inter and a backup to Lukaku, Conte would use him in a similar role. Target man down the middle. Possibly playing with fellow countryman Big Lu (and being an understudy of sorts) would help jumpstart him again a bit.

I don’t know, I could be way off. All just guessing for sake of conversation.

EDIT: Looks like Conte sets up with 2 up top so maybe he thinks Div could do a job.

Inter. Oh yeah, make it happen. :joy:

Don’t know why, but immediately thought of Keita Balde.

Edwards’ Kryptonite

You can see we bought him though, he looked very impressive for Belgium and to be honest I felt he could do a job, last season or so he has just regressed, was a time when he ran at players, he assisted a goal straight in front of me on the Kop a couple of years back by running at players and using his speed.

Twice he seemed scared of the ball yesterday and made no attempt to actually take it past a defender yesterday instead passing it back to Hendo in defence.

I feel for him as he had potential but he is standing still currently and at times it felt like having Benteke back.

It was a light-hearted pun

I know Origi was a good signing. He just (for some mysterious reasons) stopped trying since the end of last season.

Perhaps should post this in the rumours thread but it’s coming from Pearce. Looks like the cost of Diaz will be Origi if we can find a buyer - I doubt that’ll be too hard because he’s still fairly young and is a genuinely decent striker, plus Wolves seem to be offloading Traore.

Love the guy. Essential, even if in a smaller role, for us getting 6&19. Wonder what player he would have become without Funes Mori, but even so the version we got was a fantastic clutch player.

If this is the window he finally goes in then I wish him well.

This makes the move for Diaz make even more sense. If that allows us to get even a small fee for Divok now rather than seeing him leave for free in the summer then it seems strange we’d have ever considered waiting for the summer to do it.

Divs better than Traore too!

Neil Jones confiming that we have an optional 1 year extension on Div depending on appearances, thinks it is unlikely to be optioned with the signing of Diaz. Also suggests Minamino and Origi possibly on the way out this window

Personally think we’re likely to use the clause to secure a transfer fee.

Either way the sun seems to be setting on the Origi Empire

Neil Jones looks like Gerrard after a 4 day bender in Ibiza.

Don’t really want to go into the CL knock-out stage without our good luck charm though :0(

Divock should be remembered fondly by every Liverpool fan once he leaves. He never set the world on fire, and wasn’t someone you could trust to lead a forward line through a full season, but he scored some cracking and extremely important goals for us, and he never withered under pressure in big games. He was here before Klopp and adapted himself to Klopp’s game and stayed for years to fight for a place and provide depth when others would have agitated for a transfer.

He has boiled the piss of Everton, United, Spurs, and Barca fans alike, and I for one will look fondly on his time here. The cunt.

for me, it depends on what is been offered for Origi.

£5M then IMO i would prefer to keep him and let him see out his contract, as he would he would be handy to have around for Champs league games, as Diaz would be unavailable.

Origi could have a part to play in these games, if any other forward is unavailable.

Div to Wolves could make sense for all concerned if the price is right

Diaz would be available if registered. After barca spunked 150 on Cou they whinged about not having him for the CL and a rule change was brought in - can play for two teams in the same season in the CL.
