Dominik SZOBOSZLAI: 2023/24

He played every minute of those two matches, Gravenbergh will get enough minutes this season.

That pass 11 seconds in is absolutely scandalousā€¦donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever seen a player smack an 80 yard or whatever it was pass from inside his own 18 yard box like that and actually find his own man (that wasnā€™t a keeper), disgusting.

He has exceeded my expectations ten fold, I think we have a diamond on our hands.

The complete package

Ah no I was reliably informed by Man Utd blueticks on Elonā€™s shit machine that he is average.

He was tracked during a sprint by GPS on saturday at the second highest speed measured by any player so far this season.

His pace and ability to run forever were I think the oddly under referenced part of the scouting book on him. I remember reading one piece a few years ago that called him Beckham but with pace, but Im not sure I read any of the countless other pieces about him that mentioned it.

Think thatā€™s an insult! Heā€™s way more skilful than Beckham ever was!

He really feels like he was made in a lab. He is like version 2 of Todd Marinovic, the version that learned all the right lessons from how badly that experiment went.

Thrown into intense coaching as a young kid with weird techniques to produce all the technique youā€™d expect of a player at this level. Combine that with an imposing physicality making him the fastest player at the club and someone who can run for days, all on a strapping 6ā€™1" frame. Oh, and he can speak 3 languages perfectly. I bet heā€™s a weirdo primadonna though, right? No, he is the architype liverpool players in terms of blue collar attitude.

Itā€™s early days I know, but heā€™s pretty much perfect.

Heā€™s also rather good looking

Havent read any of these articles but am interested to know just how far up our list of targets he was and whether we got ā€˜luckyā€™ after being outpriced or rejected by other targets.

Heā€™s sneaky young and so Iā€™d imagine if we had any questions over it they would have been based on whether this summer was the right time for him to make this sort of move.

Best transfer of the season for all clubs in the premier league. If we couldnā€™t get Bellingham , Getting him and gravenberch isnā€™t a bad #2 option.

The only other overly linked name was Mason Mount in this position bar Bellingham.

Still wonder about that.

Doubt we ever were seriously interested in Mount. I know people bring up that we were interested in him at 17 but that really means nothing - heā€™s a totally different player and prospect now.

Comparing him to Szoboszlai and the weaknesses of Mount game become even more stark.

I never really bought it as a rumour, maybe some interest was there but I could have told you Dom was the better player.

Maybe Jorg refocused our search.
