Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 3)

Rubio is like their Theon Greyjoy. They keep him around just to humiliate himself.

We’re seeing now what he’s sold himself for with the Venezuela shit. He’s long wanted to oust Chavez/Maduro thinking it would have a domino effect of liberating Cuba. Here Marco made a bet that Trump is so disinterested in the job that he’ll let him get away with anything he wants in this region as long as he supports trump in other ways

Because these guys have exactly 2 ideas. they’re both bad and shown to be false over and over again and all it does is make them think ā€œmaybe we didn’t neocon/trickle down hard enough last time?ā€

This is one of those cases of someone’s anti-Semitism outpacing their islamophobia rather than any real ethics. But the Jewish-space laser lady is right in this case.

She literallly only says this because she is an absolute raging anti semite who belives in Jewish space laser conspircy theories. What she says is irrelevant since she has no empathy for Palestinians other than it’s the Jews that are doing it.

It’s not really that strange, but sure, it is transactional becuse Trump. But not really a big deal this. It’s just a training field…

How ironic is it that Trump has a better case than Obama had when he won it, who as far as US presidents go was amongst the more likeable ones?

Never mind that the narcissistic turd’s main, if not only drive was to satisfy his enormous ego, hence his shameless innuendos and outright demands for it, the fact of the matter is that by brokering this deal, he did more for peace than past laureates.

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see him win next year. But then again, the dumb cunt might have invaded Venezuela by then, or made a move for Greenland.

Kathy Hochul sent me a check for $500. I don’t even live in her state anymore, but I’m gonna write her and ask for more.

He hasn’t mentioned it in a while. I assume he forgot such a place exists.

You what?
The President that’s sending troops into his own cities to shit stir things up?
However your probably correct he has a chance of winning it next year unlike having absolutely no chance this year.

I don’t think it’s like winning footballer of the year. Or at least it shouldn’t be. Having a year where you didn’t cause harm shouldn’t offset a year you were complicit in war crimes.

Not for this thread but what an absolute mess that place has become under Milei. Should be a warning to everyone else, including the UK, but we’ll ignore it.

I would delete ā€˜has become’ and just put ā€˜is’. We can’t lay this at his feet alone. Milei just added his particular flourish to it.

Although my knowledge of economics is only marginally behind @Arminius’, I have been watching closely to see where this ghastly experiment would end up.

I rcecall reading cautiously positive appraisals not too long ago, seems that was a bit premature…

Fair shout. It was a mess beforehand. Not sure whst we should accurately call it now though.

Things have improved but evaluating the effects of ā€œshock therapyā€ during the shock, as we’ve seen from the ā€œthey were wrong about mileiā€ stories from American deregulation advocates, was naive or maybe willfully missing the point.

We’re now in the post shock period where the real test was always going to be. What they are now doing is spending government money they saved from their service and employment cut backs in an attempt to prevent the peso from losing value. So it’s austerity with none of the budget savings, but the markets see how artificial the peso value is creating an additional devaluation pressure.

Lawnmower Man incoming…

I found this video of Joe Rogan appearing stupider than usual quite amusing.

The drooling is made even funnier by the fact it upsets his acolytes.

There are entire season arcs of the West Wing about how difficult it is for a President to run for reelection because of a law that makes it a crime to perform partisan political acts as a federal employee in the act or guide of your employment.

The main focus of this, as it was in the west wing, is in the lengths the president has to go to organize reelection activities outside of the scope of their day job as president, but really what this is supposed to prevent is a government department campaign to reelect the President. We’ve never really put much thought into that side of the law because of course that would outrageously corrupt.

Yet…

These notices are on pretty much every .gov website

EDIT
Holy shit, this is allegedly playing at airports
