Fabio Carvalho (AM) Fulham

I am sorry but they have been dragging their feet all weekend and would have had plenty of time to complete that paperwork

Weā€™ll that was an entertaining transfer window. Fully enjoyed that rollercoaster with twist in the end during plane flights. In the bag, nope. Good stuff!

Hahahahaha

Check out this dumb cunt.

Ohā€¦

I agree that thereā€™s little chance of him coming to Liverpool. Foreign clubs will be all over him these coming months.

This is purely down to Fulham , They could have agreed a deal far earlier to get the transfer done on time. Instead, They wonā€™t even get a suitable deal for him if the likes of Dortmund come.

Iā€™m a glutton for punishment. Watching replay of fulham blackpool. Fulham look like they set up in 4-3-3 with Carvalho playing the left sided #8, but not super clear because Fulham are absolutely battering them. 10 minutes in, should be 3-0, but only 1-0. Carvalho made the goal and got the assist on Mitrovic tap in. That harry Wilson fella also looks to be enjoying himself, playing with confidence.

You can tell from first 5 minutes of game Carvalho is some player. Instantly obvious why we want him. Iā€™ve got my eye glued on him, so not sure what Iā€™d think if I was casually watching game, but looks very assured, quick, and decisive, constantly asking for the ball.

Oh crap. Now there is stoppage for medical emergency for someone behind goal. Hope whoever it is turned out ok.

Edit: after lengthy stoppage, understandably a bit scrappy for next 10. Carvalho is one of those players whose feet just seem to be twice as fast as anyone elseā€™s in tight spaces.

Turned it off after half. Iā€™ve seen enough. He was best player on either team. Not sure on defensive side of things, heā€™s slight and not that tall, but works hard to close down and press. He was definitely the left sided #8 in 3 man mid, but popped up all over the place.

Mitrovic exact opposite. Looks big and fat lol.

I find the notion that they couldnā€™t get the paperwork done a bit odd. Surely, the bulk of the paperwork would have been drafted by the Reds and/or Fulham well in advance of the final hours. Just fill in the blanks for the final terms of the deal and fax it over to each party for signature - especially if the parties felt like a deal was possible. It probably would have been a fairly standard transfer agreement document. Same for the terms for the playerā€™s contract as well.

Itā€™s especially odd to me if they could get an extension with a term sheet sent into the EFL. Perhaps something came up with the medical?

WTF happened last night. It looked done.

Skipped the last 200 posts.

What does the increased fee which we were ready to pay mean for the tribunal fee now?

Seems like a lot of work for SFA.

Maybe itā€™s just me, I dunno, but maybe before devoting hours and hours to something you would think that someone would have actually considered whether or not it was possible to finish that something before any hard deadline.

Ah bugger. No worries though. He would have been loaned back anyways and he wants LFC move so weā€™ll get him in the Summer. Agent Harvey Elliot must have already spoken with him ages ago.

Over 200 messages since last night, I take it we didnā€™t sign him in the end?

A sign of winter break and our first interesting transfer window in ages. Donā€™t think we need to get our collective knickers in a twist over this one. He might be special, or he might be another one of the thousands of young players that everyone thought was gonna be special, but ended up as Le Tallec or Krcic

Iā€™m afraid the tribunal will set the fee at over Ā£10m now.

Whatā€™s gone on here then. Went to bed about 10:45 and it was all looking done and dusted.

If weā€™re 99% of the way there then surely we can just conclude things with Fulham today with the date of transfer changed to the summer. Canā€™t see him now all of a sudden signing a new deal and Fulham will surely prefer the guarantee of whatever we agreed than risk a tribunal or him swanning off to the continent for a few hundred grand instead.

He wasnā€™t going to be here for the rest of this season anyway so it doesnā€™t make that much of a difference really.

Amateurish behaviour from us. But hopefully a mistake we wonā€™t make again. Fortunately it wasnā€™t costly.

We can still sign him in July unless he decides heā€™d be better off elsewhere in the meantime. In which case it would show heā€™s not the right kind of player for us.

Fee will be agreed if we can come to an arrangement with Fulham, or a tribunal will probably be a lower fee anyway.

Come on pal, it really isnā€™t. We literally just signed Diaz and tried to steal a march on a 19 year old kid who wouldnā€™t even play for us this seasonā€¦

The groundwork is done, this has allowed Jurgen to speak to him, that is end game for this guyā€¦ He will wait.
