Didnât stay up last night. Didnât read the last 200 posts in this tread. Disappointed, but not devastated. Ward, I need a word with you.
The request to loan Williams seems to have led to this fuck up. Just an extra factor that may have caused someone to drop the ball with the Carvalho paperwork. That was seemingly a fairly late thing for Fulham, presumably (although it could have come from us), to throw into the mix.
Had a bad feeling about this and now everyone looks like plonkers. Furthermore, everyone knows how good our recruitment team is. We wanted this kid, whoâs out of contract in the summer, for a value that will be widely known. Just the fact we wanted him will make the interest in him from elsewhere, particularly abroad, escalate.
Feel for the kid in all this. There will be photos of him somewhere all donned out in a Liverpool kit, roaring into the camera.
He gets brought up to Anfield to watch the 2nd leg of a CL gameâŚ

Job Done
Some people need to calm down.
If he suddenly decides he wants to go elsewhere, is that really what weâre looking for in the squad anyway? Itâs a test of his desire if nothing else.
No lose situation for us this. We might look a bit silly now, but we havenât lost anything. Fulham are the ones with the most to lose from that deal breaking down, itâs as good as they are going to get.
Exactly! Klopp has only signed players who want to play for Liverpool, believe in the project, and have the right character. If he doesnât tick these boxes weâll just go for one of the many other teenage prodigies that do
Fulham is the club that needs to keep its head on a swivel. Instead is getting ~8 mil from us they could receive 250k from foreign club. I think theyâll be highly motivated to encourage him to sign for us.
Ironically, as I said last night, Fulham are obligated to allow us the opportunity to complete the deal because of the Williams loan.
I missed that part. Are the two deals contractually linked?
Collateral contract. The Williams deal happens only because of the Carvalho deal.
So LFC are presumably in a good position to conclude the deal then?
So LFC are presumably in a good position to conclude the deal then?
Well, theyâre in a good position to now seek to secure Carvalho by way of a pre-agreement. Itâs up to the player now.
It seems strange that, on the face of it, we should wait until the last few hours of a transfer window to try to thrash out a deal for a player that Klopp clearly wants. That being said, the recruitment team could have been at for weeks, who knows?
ThatâŚ
OR
They never expected to get Diaz relatively cheap⌠spend the loose change on Carvalho
Agent Harvey needs to step up
Just realized that Seri is still with Fulham.
For someone linked to Liverpool and who was close to joining Barca at one point of time ,This is rather a bad fall from grace.
Agent Harvey needs to step up
Necoâs been tasked with it too
Theyâll follow agent Harry
I think it will all be fine. Just a little shenanigans, perhaps some tomfoolery and ballyhoo, but it will be done.
Deal agreed with player. He likes us. We like him. Fee agreed with Fulham. To get it over the line we sent Neco on loan. I like Kopstarâs collateral contract point. This is quite far down the line. Ideally it would have been finished, as then we would have some certainty.
The only two variables that remain are:
- Since the deal wasnât completed, will we sign a pre agreement on the same terms, or take Fulham to a tribunal?
- Carvalho himself. Is he set on Liverpool, as it appears, or is there potential for his head to be turned by someone like Dortmund?
I think it will all go through, on the same terms agreed last night⌠that were just not executed in time before the window closed. Obviously we will wait and see.
