I think we’ll still get him.
Last night we had to go through Fulham to speak to him.
This morning as he is in the last 6 months of his contract we can sign him on a free.
It will happen, probably already in place

Won’t be ‘free’
A tribunal fee will be decided like we had with Elliott and Solanke.
Also Ings.
The main thing is Fabio has stated he wants to be here. Whether he signs now or at the end of the season i don’t see the difference. The only reason i can see us wanting to get a pre-agreement done is in case someone comes along with a better offer for him in relation to wages but even then i’m sure he can see the opportunities at LFC especially with Mane, Mo and Bobby in their last few years with us.
If we decide to try and get a pre-agreement done and Fulham refuse can we call back Neco? It’s not as if upsetting Fulham will make a difference if they’re refusing us wanting to sign the pre-agreement anyway is there? I mean they can’t do a thing at the end of the season to stop us signing him. The only thing they have a say in is if we can talk to him now.
I’m positive (not that I’m dying of hope, I never saw the kid play, but speaking from the club’s perspective) that it will still happen, judging by how close it was and some reports post the “incident”. But obviously we can’t tell for sure what might happen in the mean time.
I am ok with that.
We would have had to pay that anyway.
And to be honest getting a 20 year old wonder kid for 10-15 million I am ok with….
Don’t see the need to piss Fulham off. There’s every possibility this is just one of those things rather than deliberate sabotage on their part. Either way they’re likely to be losing the kid at the end of the season so it makes no sense for them to deliberately piss us about.
There’s also a strong possibility they get promoted and if Neco does well, he could well be one they want to keep permanently. Cutting our nose off to spite our face if we get all petulant and try and recall him now.
It sounds as though the deal was done and it was the agreement to loan him back which missed the deadline. It’s in no ones interest to basically rip that up and start again. Their fans could equally be sat on their forums wondering if we deliberately pulled the rug on it in the hope that a tribunal in the summer saves us a few million having used this time to get him all primed up and on board with the move.
Reports are that the clubs get on and everything has been amicable. The negotiations were tough but they got there too late with a deal. So I’m not so sure it’s as bad as Fulham fucking us about yest, and can’t see them doing so going forward.
On Neco, I wouldnt want him to be recalled based on what happens going forward with Carvalho. It’s in the clubs and Necos best interest that he plays whilst Fulham are challenging for the Championship title and PL promotion. He has a chance to be part of that and gain valuable experience. Using him like a pawn would be somewhat shady.
FSG do have prior relationship with Fulham’s owners. I don’t see them upsetting the applecart too much
I agree with the above points, All i’m saying is that if Fulham refuse to let us talk to Fabio about a pre-agreement then and only then should we recall Neco. I dont think they will btw because as others have said they could lose him for a lot less but if they did then it would make me wonder if they were messing us around. I mean, reports saying they didnt send the correct paperwork (for Fabio but did for Neco) etc reeks of Utds fax machine not being switched on (edit for De Gea to Real i mean)
Fulham want him to sign a new contract still - therefore may be keen to block any discussions in the hope that a promotion to the PL and the feelgood factor that comes with it, could convince Carvalho to stay on for a while longer.
Ultimately, Carvalho will decide where he ends up. If the groundwork done by Liverpool convinces him that he wants to come, we have no worries. If we are trumped by another club offering more money, and it turns his head, so be it - probably not the right player for us then.
Don’t be sad.
You look very thin in that video.
I don’t see how that would be a viable expectation on their part having publicly accepted an offer and given the player the opportunity to agree a deal with us.
He’ll sign on Day 1 in the summer, leaving us plenty of time for Mbappe and/or Haaling.
There is zero % chance he signs a new contract.
The two or three trophies we are about to win won’t hurt, either.
yeah, but my beak is showing
But its what they will chase. I’m just laying out the only reason they would deny us the chance to speak to him before his contract ends. I’m not suggesting he signs.
Why does that matter? We agreed a contract with him, the EFL just rejected the paperwork.
His contract is ending so we can speak to him before that ends anyway, 3 months isn’t it?
Who’s this Haaling character then?
