How can you argue that? He moved for £75mil after they developed him and cost them fuck all… He is basically the example of their model working completely.

Dortmund don’t give a shit he moved to work under an utter donkey manager and stalled.

Source?

To be fair, they have first and foremost a fantastic record for developing youngsters and then (over-) selling them to big clubs. But some players have been successes after they left: Lewandowski (ironically, on a free transfer), Gundogan, Hummels and Pulisic to a lesser degree.

Obviously, there are many big moves which didn’t turn out as well as expected for the buying club, among them the red mancs, who repeatedly payed big money for semi-duds…

Been thinking why LFC seemed keen to get this lads signature over the line in the Jan window…
Maybe they worried when news leaks out that Bellingham is on his way to Anfield in the summer, Carvalho may have a change of heart :upside_down_face:

I’m talking about post Klopp who’ve moved on to be successful at a bigger club. Lewandowski, Hummels, Gundogan etc Klopp players.

Sancho and Pulisic have underwhelmed.

Haaland was already sought by top clubs and hasn’t moved yet.
Bellingham still there.

For a player like Carvalho, going there would be a stepping stone to a move to a bigger club eventually, I’m questioning whether that is really the best plan. Maybe if he was 16.

Maybe Dortmund are so desperate to get Jurgen back…
they trying to convince him that they have access to best young players around…!

Don’t forget Dembelé. The most expensive super-flop, bar Coutinho… both to Barcelona…:rofl:

Amazing how Barca can announce Auba a day and half after the window closed but we cant have extra hour.

Klopp plays a very large part in some of these successes.

Just saying.

I would believe that’s on fault of the red mancs for being idiots in player development. that’s not just on the players, when was the last time the Old Toilet actually nurtured a young talent and produced a superstar? 2007 with Ronaldo?

He’s signed as a free agent, Arsenal basically let him cancel his contract.

Context Walshy!

Bet there is a weekend visit to Blackpool booked in with the lad before the easter break is out.

Jurgen Norbert “Big One” Klopp.

We ride again!

Huh? What are you implying?

I was thinking more from Sancho’s perspective than Dortmund’s… Which you’d hope would be how the young Fulham lad would also be seeing it.

The morale of the story isn’t don’t sign for Dortmund it’s don’t get too big for your boots when you leave, keep the ego in check, stay grounded and hard working. Oh and avoid a move to United like the plague!

Can’t argue with that

Interesting point. And he’s done the same at LFC. The key difference being that we’ve held on to the players that he’s helped make world class

Yes but it is a double edged sword if they think they can get more from the tribunal they might just decide to give them 4M and we offered 8M in the end very risky on their part plus it will take a while before they get their hands on the money
