Fabio Carvalho (AM) Fulham

Not by me, top lad

Indeed they are. Weā€™ll see if Morton makes the grade in the end - I certainly hope so, I think heā€™s a lovely player. Really solid and intelligent passing game, good 360 vision. Hopefully both can be in the squad for many years to come.

This comment of mine isnā€™t a diss on Jones. I like him a lot and wish he has a long career in Liverpool. But heā€™s also had 2 years without having a breakout season. But Morton potentially is more versatile and we all know how klopp likes his midfielders to be versatile.

Weā€™ve got some fans thinking heā€™s next to useless because heā€™s not as good as a 30yo Thiago. Then weā€™ve got some of the old timers overcompensating because of those comments. And saying how amazing he is.

His progress is reflected in how much football heā€™s played. Klopp will play him if he has deserved it over a current starter. These extreme views on players are ridiculous - whether thatā€™s Jones or Morton or anyone else - and they certainly donā€™t help the player either way.

This last paragraph is not targeting you if that wasnā€™t clear

Totally. Heā€™d be one of the best players on most PL teams, but comes on for us and immediately gets judged in comparison to Thiago or Trent.

Hope Carvalho is given more patience (just to bring it back on topic)

Nah. If he doesnā€™t pick up the ball from Alisson, dribble past all ten outfield players, round the keeper and roll it into an empty net in front of the Kop on his debut, Iā€™ll be branding him a total waste of money.

I agree. Iā€™m not sure heā€™s as good as some fans believe he is. Always trying to do too much and prove heā€™s good when heā€™s better off playing simple and be patient. He has not been very good this season and think we can do better. Thatā€™s not to say he canā€™t turn it around, but he hasnā€™t done anything in the past few seasons that suggest he will be better than an average midfielder.

20 outfield players, he might as well dribble past our team as well. He should also stop the ball 1cm away from a goal, and then fart it over the line.

I feel triggered

Also why are people saying this is now Jonesā€™ fourth season as a first teamer? We are currently in his second.

19/20 he made four FA Cup appearances and six cameos in the league. Meanwhile he played out of his mind at U23 level in fourteen games. Thatā€™s not a first teamerā€™s season.

20/21 was his first year in the first team full time.

what a goal by Carvalho. The awareness of space and the movementā€™s a joy to watchā€¦

Sounds like he has no vision and really needs to improve his passingā€¦

Good luck.

Look no further than Konate. Heā€™s still getting shit from some of our supporters while still being a work in progress and learning. Every misstep over analysed.

Yeah that was me. Should have read 3 seasons as I was sure he was in and around the squad for our CL season. Anyway, 4 FA Cup appearances and 6 league appearances is perhaps not a full first teamers season but he was training with the first team more often than not if not exclusively and one of those FA Cup games was against Everton with ā€˜thatā€™ goal and he was also the recipient of a PL medal. He certainly had more relevent contributions than Minimino, for example.

So will be entering his 4th season next as a first team player.

Dear Fabio, We are all looking forward to your arrival this summer. You are clearly an exciting young talent with the potential to become a Liverpool great.
Please do not be dismayed by the way that your personal thread has become filled with discussion about other players, it happens to everyone.
If you want to read about yourself, try looking at a random teammateā€™s thread, Joel Matip or Luis Diaz for example, theyā€™re probably chatting about you there.

Do you think Morton can play multiple positions other than the DM role? Not for me. Good little player, but see him being developed into a 15m quid or so signing for a championship or lower prem side with a decent sell on clause. Happy to be proven wrong, its just where ai think he will end up. Similar to Williams with Fulham.

Apologies, should really have posted this somewhere else, but Iā€™m several wines deep and trying to find a cunning plan to watch the semi final :grinning:

Whoā€™s the new guy? Has to be Aussie with such a wit.

Or a Saffy

Donā€™t really care, as long as he doesnā€™t surf for England
