Fabio Carvalho (AM) Fulham

I think he was just saying that to be polite. He even liked a report on Instagram or Twitter a few weeks ago saying he had signed for us.

I wonder if you can’t effectively announce it?

I wonder if they’d like Minamino? Seems like a good fit. I’m sure he’d like that part of London.

That’s a good shout. I feel if he stayed around he’d be the sort of visiting player who got a great reception from the Anfield crowd and I’d love to see him get that.

Minimino is AEW…

Oops wrong Tony Khan outlet.

I have got nothing but respect for that guy. After what happened when he arrived in the UK, to the way he has thrown himself into every appearance with a smile on his face, to his humble demeanor and low profile. He’s a fucking belter and I’m sure he’ll be a much-loved success wherever he goes :+1:

Is it too much to ask for Taki to stick around solely to play in domestic cup games?

Probably. Don’t you think?

I’m disappointed by how this whole Fabio thing has/is going. Given that Fulham got promoted and he was a key part of it and he’s only 19, it would have been ideal if we had been able to loan him back to Fulham for a first season in the PL. Now that we didn’t complete his signing in January I understand that this will not be possible and I’m not sure he’s likely to get many PL minutes with us next season so I can understand if the lad is a little disappointed in the moment of promotion euphoria amongst his teammates. Now I’m sure it’ll be great for us to have him in our squad and training for Klopp will really help him develop so he’s ready to fit but I do wonder if we wouldn’t have rather give him a season in the PL where he was going to get lots of minutes alongside players he was familiar with. Ultimately the Fulham transfer deadline holdups in January are going to cost Fulham and Fabio.

I hear what you saying, I just don’t think it makes sense to sign him at this age and then loan him out before even training with us.

Why?

He’s shown he’s probably on par with where Elliott is at in his development and Elliott was starting games for us before his injury.

He also offers us something a bit different in midfield. He plays more like a 10 and gets beyond the attackers, something our current crop don’t do. The closest we have to someone like that is Ox who is clearly off in the summer. He can also play wide left so with Origi off he’s a very useful option to have on the bench, especially with the five subs rule coming into effect.

Fulham have shown they’re a yo-yo team. Their success this season is down to their attack but they’re not going to be all gung-ho in the Premier League. A season training with Thiago, Diaz, Mane, Salah etc with occasional starts and a bunch of time off the bench or a season getting battered and battling relegation? I know which I’d want if I were him.

I’m not entirely sure that isn’t tactical. We do do it on occasion, just not very frequently.

In any case, we usually keep around players for a season before loaning them out, just to bed them into the team.

To be honest the ā€œhe’s X years old, he needs to be playing regularlyā€ is usually overblown. Players get better through training regularly with better quality teammates.

In any case he will play plenty next season I suspect, although I imagine he’s the type who may take a few months before we see him. After all he’s going to likely be changing position to either a CF or CM.

Would it be wrong to say that he is similar to Martin Ƙdegaard?

Peak Dele Alli perhaps.

Done deal?

Paul Gorst from the Echo seems to think so.

Hasn’t Tony Khan confirmed it. He is a pretty good link considering he sort of owns the club.

I believe he’s confirmed a deal has been done but he didn’t specify with who. At this point his destination is either the worst kept secret or the best kept one.

Yes he did specify to whom.
