It is May 4 not July 1 …
It’s a done deal. Khan even said so. But it can’t be formally announced yet.
Not that it matters really but neither Khan nor Carvalho have said the club in question is us but enough reliable people are saying so.
Open secret at this point.
Where else would he go? He’s joining a team possibly a few games away from immortality. The days of worrying about whether players want to join us or not are over
Except they might fear that they’d never get into our team.
We’ve a 36 year old playing midfield in the CL SF. He’ll get plenty of games!
The kid is saying he wants to win the Ballon’Dor, you come here to do that.
Mo would like a word
As brilliant as Mo has been this season, Mane has had the better in my opinion. Both will be up there though, which is the point for Carvalho.
Mane- 20 goals, 3 assists. Mo- 30 goals, 15 assists.
Only his international exploits could swing it for Mane, though he is in a far better team than Mo
Both have had their funks though this season (Mo is arguably still in one) , but on current form Mané is the better player.
Correct, he won the AFCON and got them through to the World Cup. Both factors are huge in the voting… Although if Real win the CL you just know fucking Benzema wins it, good job he won’t win the CL!
On current form Diaz is a shoo-in, but that’s not how it works
If we do win everything, he has to be in with a shout as player if the season, his signing gave us that extra oomph to push to the next level?
Salah’s still ahead of Mane this season, but Sadio’s certainly getting closer. If Mane keeps up these big game performances there will be a conversation to be had at the end of the season.
Current form:
Diaz
Mane
Mo
Jota
Bobby
But the funny thing is it all changes quickly. Bobby has an injury and has fallen down the pack a bit, but when he comes in he does well, and it’s at least part of the reason why the overall standard of the group is so high.
Jota has a knack of scoring goals but they are drying up a bit lately, and it isn’t quite falling for him right now, but we know he is a very good player.
Mo has had a great season but four 120 min international games, plus the burden of carrying your nation and just falling short, has seen him dip in form. Overall his season is the best though, and the dip is only relative to his own standards, as he is still a very good player. I liked his bullish tweet about having a score to settle with Real Madrid. He has a big end to the season in mind.
Mane was getting criticized a bit earlier in the season as he was off the boil, but he has played his way back into form and his international exploits have boosted him too. His flexibility in playing very well through the middle has enabled Diaz to settle quickly.
Diaz on current form is the best of the lot for me, as you just expect something to happen every time he touches the ball. Pace, hunger, skill, goals… it’s all there, and he is making a big difference in our overall ability to fight on four fronts so late in the season. He looks poised to have a big career here.
And let’s not forget Origi. Such a good servant, hardly any minutes, but when called on he does well and weighs in with iconic goals that we sing about. Couldn’t ask for more in the circumstances.
And Minamino knows where the net is too. Our depth is so good that he will probably end up moving on with Origi, but he has weighed in with goals and helped us navigate the earlier rounds of the cup.
It’s a great time to be a red. What a group of strikers! And since it is the Carvalho thread, he will come in and obviously not be a main man, but will see some action, with Origi and Minamino expected to depart. The five sub rule will also boost his prospects.
To bring it completely off topic, Diaz is complete chaos. And Origi thrives on chaos. The derby was no coincidence.
A lot of off topic discussion in the Carvalho thread.
Yeah, I thoroughly got lost
Some newspapers calling Luis Diaz… Sonic the Hedgehog
Yeah, so about this Carvalho kid… He got some head of hair on him :0)
