Noice. Not the 150m euros that was talked about.
Perhaps its deflection from the news stories that Wirtz liked Arne’s vision better and was left underwhelmed by Kompany…this way they can paint him as just going for the money.
On the BBC live text as well:
Breaking
Liverpool have agreed a £116.5m deal to sign Germany attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
The fee includes a guaranteed £100m and a further £16.5m in add-ons.
Fantastic to see it all but officially confirmed - I’d imagine we won’t see a lean etc until he returns from holiday, whenever that is, but it seems like it’s in the bag.
I guess we’ll hold off the official welcome thread until the club has done all its unveiling PR, so we’ll keep this open for now.
Bayern hat die Rechnung ohne den Wirtz gemacht.
Apologies, I’ve had a real urge to use that pun for weeks
Awesome news, it’s going to make preseason more exciting trying to get glimpses of what this guy can do and how he is going to fit in.
So Friday the 13th is unlucky for the rest of the league it’s #FlorianFriday
Welcome Wirtz
‘Those bonus payments would become payable if the Reds achieve a sustained level of success at elite level - and would only then become a British record’
if? Surely they mean when
There we land
Herr we go!
From the Oracle of Delphi:
Always felt he would good in a Liverpool shirt
It is reported here that Florian is on holiday until Wednesday. ( Sky.de)
All this time and we’re not even breaking the transfer record.
We’ll never win the Transfer Window like this.
Is this a record Bundesliga sale? @Cologne-Liverpool @Livvy ?
Looks like it - there is a list of the transfers of 100m or more as part of the article on the BBC and none of them involve players going to or moving from German clubs
