It used to boil my piss how often United would hit on their transfers under Fergie. Obviously there were some flops - Veron, Barthez, Hargreaves, Owen - but more often than not, they’d sign guys and they’d be great for them - Ruud, Cantona, Carrick, Rooney, Ronaldo, RVP (for one season). They’re now feeling what many of us felt back then as we watched us sign a parade of mostly shite while they seemed to have every signing turn out great for them.
This is how you know God is a Liverpool fan, He’s ensuring that they suffer as much or more than we did through that 3-decade drought. Inshallah.

I thought El Matador would have been a fantastic striker for us, but he signed for fucking Utd. He would have been an expensive alternative to Bobby at the time but he was lethal at Napoli, and I wished he’d have come to us instead of Liverpool. Even in his twilight years you could see his quality (and frustration) at United.
