So no wird on Wirtz then?

I can honestly say I’ve never noticed the lad but he must be some player by the discussion. What I don’t understand is why Lev would let him leave. He is still tied down for a few years and appears pivotal to their team.

Simple answer: they could buy half a new team with that money. They’ve already got a few other departures, so they can’t afford to say no. And if it’s not to a league rival, all the better.

This video is from yesterday evening.

From what i’ve seen Bayer did some other deals in the meantime, they’re about to sign Flekken from Brentford for 10 mio€ (medical booked) and a 17 year old Centerback from PSG on a free. I guess we will hear about a potential move from Kellerher soon.

Plettenberg is still crying about Wirtz not going to Bayern :joy:

I don’t think Bayer Leverkusen are going to go on a spending spree.

They’ll wait till ETH produces some promising results before giving him the budget knowing his track record at United.

They do seem to have a proper footballing structure though.

I’ll be looking intensely on who they chose to be their new Wirtz replacement. They were happy enough to let Havertz go because they had Wirtz coming through. Who do they have in their youth academy that is the next big star ?

Because they are a selling club. Most clubs in Germany with the exception of Munich are.

Hughes is having a Sunday roast with the family so no news today.

Ten Haag was brought in because, from his time at Ajax, he’s used to selling the best players at the end of the season and integrating and developing new ones. But perhaps they’ll grant him one or two of his wishes, otherwise he’ll have to mold the players into a team that they buy for him.

Which is what I suspect ETH wanted. After the fiasco at United at any rate.

If he comes to LFC I hope he’s good.
Sounds like a sausage :hot_dog:.

That’s one for the hot dog merchants of Liverpool to nick - the Florian Wurst. Not sure what the toppings would be, though: maybe a sprinkling of magic?

Journalists love to make a point about how Man United players flourish when they are no longer playing for them but I wonder if the same thing will happen with coaches as well. Rangnick’s Austria are great, even with the limited pool of players they have, and it would be ridiculously funny if Ten Hag returned to his Ajax self and continued where Alonso left. That said, Bayern are also back to their old selves and I’m afraid that they’ll turn Bundesliga into a procession for the next ten seasons…

And they seem pretty adept at identifying and buying young talents cheaply to replace the ones they sell for a huge profit just like Brighton and Bournemouth are doing.

Edit

The thing is, you can’t just dump Harvey in Leverkusen.
He needs to be given some time to think things through. Maybe he’s not interested in the Bundesliga at all and would rather stay in England. In any case, it won’t happen that quickly.

The comments :joy:
“How to start a meltdown off amongst our bedwetting fanbase.”

‘Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen are still a few million short of the acceptable fee for Wirtz’.
It’s off then :joy:

We will get there eventually

Usually, when we hear things like this, the deal is already well advanced. However, these are all German sources, so there’s probably some truth to that.
