Put a few quid on Fleetwood yesterday at 6 to 1.
He showed a bot of resilience yesterday.

I got in there early doors, 20/1
Fair play.
I really donât know enough about the game to have picked him out.
Saw leaderboard yesterday and stuck on a few quid
Very wet conditions today, itâs pouring down here.
Proper Open conditions âŚ
Randomly went for Cam Young before the tournament had been off the boil but did look good early season I see he is second currently.
Harman regrouped after a slow start when it looked like he was getting sucked back towards the pack.
Currently -12 after 14 holes, six shots ahead of Rahm, Young and Straka.
Some tough holes to finish, but if Harman keeps it steady, he could be going into the final round with a very useful lead.
Rory started brightly and could have been -4 in the first 4 holes alone, but he never quite built on a fast start, and could not make a putt, and trundled along. He will very likely finish comfortably top ten, without bringing his A game. That seems to be what he does now, unfortunately, as he has the game to win more majors.
Now it is really, really proper Open weather at Royal Liverpool âŚ
Harman is doing well to par this, he didnât have to do anything more.
Got to take my hat off to Harman these last 4 days. Least amount of putts from any winner in the last 20 years.
A proper lesson in how to play really simple and effective golf, especially today. Quite inspirational.
Iâve enjoyed the highlights these last 3 days. Slightly itchy feet to dust off the clubs but the cost is too steep sadly.
Big well done to Harman, didnât give anybody else a sniff from midday on Friday. Looked unflappable despite the occasion.
Though I do hate it when the biggies are âspoiledâ by a runaway winner.
Sky just had to spoil the end of an enjoyable weekend, by interviewing Tony Bellew.
BBC coverage was the Rory McIllroy highlight show but hey ho.
Didnât quite have the drama of 2 players battling for it did it? I still enjoyed how Harman gave a lesson in âplaying within yourselfâ on that final round.
Players now though, I donât know them having been out the loop on the game for so long.
Thatâs because Tiger wasnât playing. Been that way with golf coverage (BBC and USA) for many years now. Theyâll show Tiger/Rory regardless of how poorly theyâre playing, while at the same time often not bothering to show much (if anything) of the less glamourous names sitting on page one of the leaderboard (more so with US coverage).
Amazing how a small technical detail makes such a big difference.
A mate pointed out yesterday I donât keep my left arm straight when swinging. I was basically playing cricket shots at a golf ball and relying purely on hand eye coordination to hit the ball.
Kept it straight for the 6 balls that were left - topped one (yeah, Iâm still shite) but the other five made perfect contact, lovely ball flight and dead straight. More than that I actually felt confident that I knew where the ball was.
A few lessons for me I think.
My issue was always âgetting aheadâ of the ball. Basically I would slide forward during the down swing as I transferred my weight onto my front foot. This leads to blocks to the right and slices.
A lesson helped enormously with this.
took my 8yo out on the weekend to our little par3 9hole course at our rec property on the weekend. He can only drive ~125y but thatâs enough for 2-3 of the holes. Had his first birdie putt on Saturday, proud dad moment.
Iâve currently got my AP1âs in the shop to replace the shafts/grips on them. Found a set of lighter graphites, some stiff ProjectX Catalyst 100âs. getting new mid grips installed as well.
Big implications for accuracy and consistency, but itâs also an example of one of the many power sinks there are in a bad swing. Tighten that up and youâll be hitting the ball further as well as straighter.
thatâs exactly where my slice originates from, if I forget to push/stomp that left heel down on my downswing (plants front foot, pushes weight back a bit) Iâll drift through the ball and off to the right it goes.
