If this was aimed my way, I happily invite you to come to Hilton Head Island. Lots of great golf here, and I have 10 courses on island that I play for free. Iāll let you make your own judgement.
No.
It was aimed at 90% of amateur golfers who claim to drive the ball 300+ yards and donāt.
I follow a lot of Twitter golf related accounts.
Thereās a pattern of what I call āgolf snobberyā, where many try to belittle people who donāt drive the ball 300+ yards, and tell them they should be playing from forward tees because theyāre not good enough to play from back tees.
My suspicion is that lots of them are full of shit and my 250 yard driving game would kick their arse.
Thanks.
Iāll PM you my address to send the flight tickets to
Just got home after playing the Old Course in reverse, the way it was played originally.
Part of a 3 day celebration of the 50th anniversary of the formation of the St Andrews Links Trust
Amazing experience, once in a lifetime opportunity.
was stateside last week for spring break, we have a recreational property that includes a membership at a 9hole executive course on the property. itās a bit rough, but playable. got in 8 rounds last week, nice to get out and swing the clubs again. I donāt keep score, itās really just target practice. couple of us dads take our sons out early and get them through the course before it gets busy then weāll do our own loop. itās pretty fun.
Expecting a few twists and turns in todays final round.
I think ultimately Scheffler will come out on top though, heās just too good currently for the others.
Glad to see DeChambeau moving backwards though.
The grotesque collective display of LIV team logos on their shirts and bags was quite nauseating to see.
Only one I have time for is Brooks, who didnāt partake in their pathetic posturing.
Brilliant 4 days of Masters golf, Scheffler ground them all down to show why heās world number one.
Ludvig Aberg, what a talent heās going to be.
Observation of top golfing talent versus top football talent.
No sleeve tattoos.
No ripped or torn clothing.
No ridiculous but trendy hairstyles.
No ridiculously trendy 20 hair chin bristles.
No sunbed evidence.
No tantrums.
No cheating.
No examples of feigned injury.
Just truly talented sportsmen providing outstanding entertainment
It was a great tourney. I love the Masters. Scheffler seemed head and shoulders above the rest. When he had a blip on day three, he responded with an eagle to open up a gap again. In the last round, his distance control and putting were so good, and it felt to me that he had another gear to find, whenever the chasing pack got close.
Ć berg was excellent. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if he didnāt turn it over into the water and get a double bogey. It felt like that almost handed it to Scheffler. That might be unfair though, as everyone made a mistake, or more.
Great talent with a big future though, it will be interesting to watch him go.
Scheffler, deserved champion.
Comparison of golfers to footballers? This lot definitely seem better at golf, but I havenāt seen them try footy. I would imagine the footballers are better there.
As for attire, we were watching golfers in their work clothes. Yes, less tattoos and dodgy barnets and so on, but golf still remains, by and large, a sport for a certain demographic, much as efforts have been made to shift that.
I doubt there are many patrons rocking up at Augusta wearing the sort of ripped clothes and gear that many footballers go for. There are strict country club rules about that at a place like Augusta.
Mayhem at the PGA this morning as Scottie Scheffler got arrested on his way to the course.
Early this morning there was a traffic fatality on the road leading up to the courseās main entrance and police set up a road block to deal with it. Scheffler got caught up in the backed up traffic and allegedly tried to get around it. Itās not clear what happened next or how, but at some point a cop pulled him over for it and they got into an physical altercation resulting in him getting handcuffed and taken away to jail. He is claiming he didnāt know it was a cop, but Iām struggling to connect the dots on who he thought it could have been given he was making an illegal traffic maneuver. Regardless, he got booked in, paid his bail and has now made it back out to the course to tee off having lost his planned 2+ hours of prep.
