āDo you know who I am?ā
āNoā
āIām the best golfer in the world!ā
āGolf? Iād rather watch paint dry. Youāre nicked.ā
First hand account from a reporter who happened to be trying to make his way onto the course at the time claims that after being directed by police to go around the road block, another officer threw himself at the car to try to stop it. SS got out of the car and was immediately put in cuffs by officer claiming he was assaulted (by the car).
Is this the ESPN reporter? The eye-witness reporter I saw was hereā¦ Scottie Scheffler arrested before PGA Championship Round 2 - ESPN
Based on this article it looks like he is saying police told Scheffler to stop and he carried on so the officer āattached himselfā. The one I see claiming he followed traffic instructions was Scheffler himself and his attorney but of course they will say that.
It would be pretty astonishing if there is no video of the incident given it was outside the golf club.
Yeah, fair point on the claim that he was initially following police instructions comes from SS himself
This was Jeff Darlingtonās original comment that doesnt infact say that

Then here is him reporting on SSās comments to him

Yes
Stupid police should know that he is above the law and is allowed to drive wherever he wants.
Interesting thing about LIV is it seems to have hit some golfers form completely whilst others seem fine.
Like Rahm looks totally off and yet Koepka still posts decent figures.
Iād be shocked if Scheffler wins this
Pretty sickening that all that the broadcasters and commentators are talking about is poor Scheffler, hope he makes his tee time.
Meantime an innocent worker lies dead.
Life is so cheap in the land of machine gun owners
Fucking hell.
20 minutes of Scheffler telling the world what a chaotic day heās had.
And once again US police manage to look simultaneously fascist authoritarians and bungling fools. What a country
The fascist authoritarian, bungling fools were trying to manage the scene of a fatal road traffic crash. But that doesnāt seem to matter, does it?
Took some utter nerves to deliver then well done Xander.
He looked like he had it with a bit to spare, but then all of a sudden he has a 6 footer on 18 for the win. It hit the inside of the hole and ran around three quarters before dropping in. Nicely done Xander.
Watched the whole day unfold yesterday, entertaining viewing.
Well done to Schauffele for holding his nerve all 4 days, especially after last week.
Only criticism is, they made the course too easy for a major.
72 players under par, and 23 at -10 or better.
Valhalla is not the toughest course, wider fairways, and some short par 4ās and 5ās. PGA doesnāt trick the course up like the US Open, or Masters, and the amount of rain they got let the guys just take dead aim.
Not surprised by the scores at all really. Heck, Iāf Schauffele had putted better Friday and Saturday, heād have scared -30.
All said, was quite the teary-eyed day for me, as Xander is my favorite golfer, and after Klopp, I was sobbing happy for the X Man to get his first major.
Got a new golfer to add to the favorites list.
Not sure if non Americans get the US Open feed from American television, but they were showing photos of players with their fathers for Fathers Day, and Ludvig Aberg was pictured with his dad at Anfield wearing LFC scarves!
Wasnāt aware of that, he had become a fave of mine due to his money he is winning me another reason to like the lad
Letās go Rory!
That one will haunt Rory. Well played to Bryson but the door was opened for him with a couple of pretty bad misses.
