Harry Wilson (RW) to Fulham

In Edwards we trust when it comes to transfers!!! He has rejected a 12 million bid, may be he expects someone to come up with a 17 million bid or may be Burnley revise their offer higher. Think Wilson will be sold. Even Klopp was trying to hype his price a bit in post match interview :blush:

Should’ve put his name up for a top 5 pen last night, the great dead ball wizard that is Harry Wilson.

Wilson was put in the shop window to attract buyers. It didn’t work out too well i’m afraid.
This will test Sir Michael Edwards’ negotiating skills.

He deserves better than that shit stain of a club.

I suggested Burnley as a possible destination for him on TIA, confirming my ITK credentials once again. He’d fit in well there because he is basically crosses and dead balls. There isn’t much else to his game, sadly, and he was woeful last night. So often I’ve watched him in games for Derby and Bournemouth where I’ve just forgotten he was on the pitch and it was the same again last night. If we can get £15 million for him we’ll have done very well.

I don’t think the club needs to rush into any deals with other clubs for H.Wilson. He ain’t getting any younger but I think if we don’t get the right price for him we should keep him. Let Klopp and his staff work on him for a year and see if he can help the team. Worst come to worst we can sell him in Jan or next summer for a better price. We have the leverage, a lot of teams are in desperate mode and will offer stupid money when they realize time is running out. Especially, if they are in the bottom half of the table.

my interpretation was that they played him to try to get a better offer from burnley, rather than attract other clubs

It would be a fucker for him to go to another club who are looking at a relegation scrap.
From a Welsh perspective, I hope he finds somewhere if Klopp has no interest in keeping him around, but he’s better than Burnley and certainly better than Dyche.

I think he needs a new engine to be honest.

He has to go somewhere. Him staying here would reduce his fee. He needs playing time, and he won’t get that here. If he can’t be sold, then a loan to PL club (Not Burnley, out of spite), or a loan deal to team in Europe.

I wonder if he might flourish at one of those Italian clubs that they have now.

Yeah I think I’d rather loan him out with some fee involved than sell for 12m, last summer he could have fetched 20m, he started well at Bournemouth and was sometimes their best player but did seem to drop off.

I am sure Man U will buy him for 80mil.

Joking. But I am not. We have been so efficient and effective in the market, that we are longer desperate in selling or buying, something clubs like Man U are finding themselves in.

It’s very strange that he wasn’t listed in the CL squad at all. He was a free slot. He wasn’t taking anyone else’s place we could have listed the exact same squad plus Wilson. It doesn’t mean we’d have had to use him. And even in the unlikely event a CL side came in for him it wouldn’t make him cup tied. It’s a decision that makes no sense to me. Would have lost us nothing and who knows? If he ended up with us till Jan or next summer it would open up the possibility of at least sticking him on the bench if an injury crisis hit. Only thing I can think of is we wanted to send him a message, almost a punishment or at least a lack of reward for staying? Maybe we did have at least one deal on the table that we’d have accepted but he pissed us off by not accepting it himself?

I assume we know he is on loan somewhere

Even if he was still set to go somewhere on loan or perm (less likely) in this window it would still have done no harm naming him on the list. Naming him doesn’t mean we have to use him or even that he has to stay with us. It just would have been an option, if we found ourselves needing it, of using an extra player should we need him. This isn’t like a Grujic v Shaqiri thing when we only have room for one or the other due to the category player they are. Wilson counts as club developed and there are 4 slots we can only use with players like him and we don’t come close to filling them. Naming him is a freebie. An extra in case of emergency. Even from a negotiating point of view it gives us a stronger hand to at least make a pretence that we would use him.

It’s an odd situation. On at least one occasion we have registered a kid for Europe who seemingly had absolutely no chance of playing just because we could. Name escapes me now…maybe it was Flanno as a Club Trained player?

A short term long until January is possible and then he can be sold.

Or Bournemouth can loan him again with option to buy.

Or he stays here for 12 weeks and then be sold.

But I don’t think we will get what was offered for him a few weeks ago.

Know they are probably very different players but wonder if Brentford might become interested in Wilson now they have the Benrahma money?

Maybe posted elsewhere but I heard on Sky today Liverpool rejected a loan offer from Swansea for Harry Wilson.

EDIT: just saw it was posted in the Twitter thread. :slightly_smiling_face:
