James MILNER: 2021/22

So did anyone else feel their sphincter completely crumble last night when it looked like Lyanco had broken him?

Ha exactly the comparison I was going to make.

Not for a jot. He’s a terminator.

@mackie has this article in the post match thread. Added the link to the post here for the record

Today, was probably Milner’s last appearance at Anfield and I’m surprised there wasn’t more made of this. He’s been a tremendous player for Liverpool since we signed him. Or is their something we don’t know? Has he agreed another contract?

He must be staying, if not he would surely have gotten the same recognition as Big Div.

There was a rumour of an extension.

Although the way he stood in front of the Kop at the end, looking pensive, makes me think otherwise. Though perhaps he was just pissed off.

Maybe not agreed, but it’s been said the offer is on the table. Up to him whether he stays or not.

A return to Leeds could now be on the cards.

I’d guess the offer is on the table but he’s not decided what he’s doing next year.

He’d still be very useful for the right team, but I doubt he’s playing 90 mins every week for anyone, unless he drops way way down the divisions or goes to play overseas.

Not sure if he’s ever talked about ambitions to manage/coach. Playing again for Leeds was perhaps just an assumption that a lot of us made, but he already probably missed that boat. Big decision for him, but I’m sure the club is comfortable whatever he decides.

I’m sure James said he could not turn down the chance to stay another season.

At that moment, I was also looking pensive and I was pissed off, but I’m staying next season. I hope James also stays another year.

You haven’t seen me play!

They said the agreement is that they will sit down when the season is over and decide what will happen.

F*ck contracts right now, we have finals every few days. It can wait a few weeks.

I thought that too but I hope I’m wrong. If he left without getting a proper send off that wouldn’t be right. Showed his worth again yesterday. Losing Thiago was a massive blow but I was glad he was the one who came on. A few arses had gone on that pitch and we needed him to restore order and confidence.

I think if he didn’t I think it’s probably obvious he will be around for another season.

Is that John Arne Riise’s son?
