Jarell Quansah (CB) to Bayer Leverkusen

Yeah, €20m… But don’t forget we’ll have saved 2-3 years worth of wages too. So it’ll be a fair chunk less that the €20m.

Looking at that clause now, I’d say it’s 90% that we’ve seen the last of Quansah at Liverpool. He was a nice addition a little bit out of nowhere in the summer of 2023 when we needed depth, was relatively useful with mixed success (I really liked some of his games at LCB in 23/24). Now, the club probably judges his current level and ceiling doesn’t merit rejecting such an offer and it’s better to improve with another, better solution. Wish him well for the rest of his career.

Hopefully, it won’t be long before he is a Liverpool player again.

Best of luck to Jarell, and hopefully we see the value in spending 60M to bring him back in a few years

The Quanz

You just know BL fans are going to add a t sound to his name:

Quantsah

Will leave the thread open just until the official Bayer announcement.

You’re not going to leave it open until 2027 for when we activate the buy back?

I guess someone is just going to have to open a Jarell Quansah (CB) Bayer Leverkusen thread in September

I think he’s going to be a huge success in the Bundesliga. Good luck to him!

He’ll develop well over there I think. If he irons out the weaknesses that he currently has he’ll be a welcome return addition. If not he’s still good enough to have a long career at a very decent level. Bundesliga will suit him, I think

Id trust the Liverpool coaching team on this one.

I don’t think he’s coming back though. The sell on clause is just for the hypothesis that he will develop as a player at Leverkusen.

By 2027 , we probably might get other defensive targets and some that don’t entail 60m to be spent.
