I do not use the app and for some reason the page will not load for me via browser. Possible to have a screen capture or text copy/paste? :folded_hands:

Here ya go…

I’m also interested to see how Ndukwe turns out. I’ve only seen the YouTube clips but he’s a big unit who looks to have pace, and on first glance he looks like he might have the chops to get into the first team squad in a year or two.

His number is 97? Hard pass.

We’ll see, that’s all impossible to predict.

First thing these players have to prove is what they can do in the present.

So was this confirmed as a loan back? Or will we have to wait for anything official until June. Like if it’s a loan back I assume you’ll see it officially announced.

Fee is fee in my view I’m not too bothered if the club can spend it.Might convince Konate to stick around with another Frenchman around.

Nice to beat Chelsea for once.

I think there will be a short announcement, but not necessarily tonight.

I can’t get my head around the fact that this is the norm now. I have a friend who’s mad for Serie A, has been his entire life, who frequently makes a mockery of transfer fees that PL clubs dish out for unproven players now. When I pointed out that Italian clubs started paying such transfers fees first, he retorted that they mostly spent them on proven players like Ronaldo, Buffon, Crespo, Batistuta… While not entirely correct, he does have a point. 60 million euros now buys you potential that you have to nurture.

I have no idea about his style or quality so to judge on the price (and in general) I’ll wait to see a little bit of him.

Age can be just a number, we see different players at 22, 23 or 24 being called ‘young players’ by some who are just stagnating and not making the steps needed.

On the other hand, we saw players below the age of 21 who were ready to compete immediately.

In this business you often find gems who are making big steps very quickly. This fella was playing Ligue 2 football for half of last season, now at Rennes (who’s level has dropped a bit in the last season or two), tomorrow he’s in at Liverpool, who are in the need of a starting CB.

That doesn’t guarantee success of course, but some players who remain at a certain level for a certain amount of time… the market just doesn’t bit for some reasons. An opposite example can be someone like Nunez.

However, this will be interesting from a few aspects.

Is he viewed as the player who will most probably replace Konate and be expected/hoped to come straight in the team? We might sign another CB or another player who can play CB and full back, but he might well be.

From what I’m seeing, he’s been playing for a year and a half at Rennes in a 3 at the back system. What I like about it though, is that he’s been used in all 3 of those positions. Right sided, central and quite a bit on the left.

Pre-season will be really important if the RCB spot alongside Virgil will be his and we have our high aims to compete for big things (hopefully after securing it this season…).

As for his height, I see he’s 190cm on transfermarkt. Have no problems with that. I mean, we cannot expect to constantly find CB’s who are 195cm like Virgil and 194cm like Konate. 4-5cm by default shouldn’t be a big difference, he might still be or become quality in the air for what we need.

Contract will be until 2031, when he will be on the verge of 26.

Also, from what I see, he’s our 7th or 8th most expensive ever signing, basically tied with Szobo (or before the bonuses are activated, technically below Szobo and ahead of Keita).

That was quick. Worth starting a welcome to Liverpool thread?

Plus, another Frenchman from Bondy.

That’s probably the hottest area in terms of talent in Europe, I think Paris was the record city at the last Euro’s.

Should have a few scouts there living and working full time, going to these streestyle games in cages. Maybe we do.

It was about time we improved our French recruitment.

To be fair the Basque Cheesecake in Waitrose has gone up to £7.50 it was about £4.5 a year or so back.
