Jordan Henderson (CM) to Al-Ettifaq

Good advice.
I haven’t talked about the holocaust for years.
It therefore didn’t happen.

Well Jordan, if you leave for the £££££ you’ll forever be Hugo to me. He was (was) absolutely fucking boss for us for many years. Hell of a player and leader. Made whisky nose eat his words with aplomb,

Yikes

You reckon yeah?

I’d take more extreme measures tbh, if you think it’s ok to freely discriminate someone on the grounds of race, sexuality etc then you have your tongue cut off. :+1:

After all does one really deserve a voice if their main contribution in life is to serially abuse them for something they have no control over?

I wouldn’t be blaming the club as much as Henderson. Liverpool isn’t encouraging him to go there, it is Henderson’s decision. The club, under Klopp at least, has never stood in the way of someone wanting to leave, this is more of the same.

Also, if we are to stop dealing with KSA clubs where do we draw the line? Say that we don’t do business with clubs from countries with a poor human rights record currently. Does that mean that clubs from countries that used to discriminate and exploit people are excused? That would pretty much rule out most of Europe. By this token, British clubs would be the most disadvantaged considering that the British Empire raped and pillaged 1/4 of the world. Liverpool in fact was a main hub in slave trading. Should other clubs stop dealing with LFC because of it?

On principle, I am not disagreeing with you. It’s just that short of having the rest of the world treat KSA as it eventually did the Apartheid, there’s little point in us refusing to deal with them.

How do you irradiate only one?

We don’t know that for sure, isn’t it. We only see media saying Henderson is deciding his future. What if the prelude to this was the club and Klopp making it honest and clear that he will not play much (alot similar to why Milner and Bobby would not have stayed) and because he is under contract, the club would entertain any reasonable bid, provided Hendo thinks it’s right for him. And if the club broach this, Hendo, like any player including Bobby and Milner would seriously them consider all options for his future. What the media is portraying as if Gerrard and the Saudi club approaches Hendo first and tempt him with the high salary and as a result Hendo is the one actively wanting now the club to let him go. That could have been what happened, nevermind illegal approaches or what, but it could easily have been what I described instead

It could also be just fabricated rubbish, to spice up some rumours during a quiet LFC period.

Klopp will never have a better chance of building the midfield.
Next season we wont be offered £60m for the pair so take it and get 2 new midfielders in.
How Henderson or Fab get paid by their new clubs is of no concern to me. They have behaved while on our books and have won the lot so what they do after is up to them.

Take it a step further. Suppose West Ham sell a player to Saudi for £200m then come calling for a player of ours. Should we refuse on principle? Like you say, where do we draw the line?

Perhaps we should have done this with the likes of Ox and Keita for the past couple seasons. People on here were adamant that isn’t how Klopp works though.

I doubt we had any intention of selling Henderson this summer, much less actively encouraging him out the door. I also doubt he had any intention of moving this summer either, even with a reduced playing role which he must have known was on the cards.

But the offer of £700k a week can change those intentions very quickly. We’d be dicks to stand in his way knowing he’s one of our better earners and that new contract he signed a couple years back was perhaps, with the benefit of hindsight, not a great move on our part. He knows that money is life changing for generations of his family to come.

It’s maybe just the money doing the talking which is exactly what it is intended to do.

Well I honestly thought City would fuck football but fair play Saudi looking like a good bet to overtake them.

They have…only for the last decade & let’s not forget Chelsea have been doing for twice as long. Directly affecting clubs like us, Utd & Arsenal…Saudi taking players to their league doesn’t have that same affect. Have yet to see them throw 100m around at players like these others clubs that compete in the same league as us. Overtake them because they throw a multi-million package deal for a bunch of 30 year olds? Nah.

What does that gif mean? Is it something to do with his nipple being in the wrong place?

A reluctant yes. Conceding the point.

However, if its a nipple thing then I’m comfortable with you thinking that way.

I’m not sure what message could be sent by posting a picture of a man with a wayward nipple. Something to do with the beauty of imperfection maybe? A tribute to otherness? A critique of conventional body images?

Interestingly, I was watching the SSN headlines last night, and they stated that Al-Ettifaq were walking away from the deal - nothing doing. Liverpool and Al-Ettifaq had had no discussions.

Reddy last night said;

"Where we stand is actually nowhere definitive. Al Ettifaq - they expect Jordan Henderson to say yes, but I have got no concrete information that his decision in the affirmative has been made.

"There is still no approach to Liverpool.

“There has been no discussion of a potential transfer fee or anything like that, but the club would expect double the reported £10m that was reported today just because of Henderson’s status as the club captain and an England international and the qualities he brings.”

If this is all total fabrication, I feel sorry for Hendo, as everyone has piled on to him, and the LGBTQ+ groups have kicked him pretty hard too. Even more so if he literally found this all out via the rumours flying around yesterday.
