Jordan Henderson (CM) to Al-Ettifaq

I wouldn’t say it’s fabrication, there’s more than enough stories from various reliable sources. But transfers take time, it cannot be all done in 24h. Especially when it’s now between clubs. Even if it falls through, it doesn’t mean it was all a lie.

Hendo and/or his agent are free to address the rumours (that I’m sure he’s well aware of) anytime he likes.

If the deal breaks down or something, of course they are free to say, whether it’s true or they’re lying. There’s always the other side. But right now, we are according to multiple sources, in club negotiations. And no surprise, that can take days.

I honestly feel Henderson was dipping his toe in the water of public opinion to see whether he would get support or criticism from Liverpool fans. Many players in general want to achieve ‘Legend Status’ especially at a massive club like Liverpool. It seemed that he initially was receiving good vibes as the fans saw the £ signs that could help continue our rebuild of the midfield.

It seems the negativity about him taking oil blood money had only really started kicking off properly once we heard that Al-Ettifaq was looking to get him on a free
image or for a paltry £10m. Its at this point its my opinion that Henderson didn’t want to damage what he has with the club.

I just can’t step through logic where supposedly Al-Ettifaq reach an agreement with a player for an incredible weekly sum without having thought through that a contracted player will not just be allowed to leave for nothing. If anything this stinks of Al-Ettifaq trying to save face by supposedly baulking at being told there is an asking price, but in reality Henderson is the one who backed out.

Reckon he saw that 10 second video of Stevie’s management skills in full flow …plus his teammates jogging up to him as though he was on a Japanese game show and not having a fucking clue where he was or what he was supposed to be doing and thought " join Al- Equifax? Fuck no"

If they were taking decisions based on that, there would be no clear decisions for the majority of time. Unless when it’s pretty much a universal feeling when the Super League fiasco was going on.

I’m far less convinced there’s a realistic deal on the table to break down or not carry on. Hendo would be daft not to listen to offers - when someone offers you a potential job, you listen - but that doesn’t mean you’re remotely close to interested. I get messages on LinkedIn from companies/recruitment consultants, and often will chat with them even though I know I’m not leaving my current job.

Reliable sources are often unreliable too. Joyce hasn’t said owt - just Ornstien, Jones and the HereWeGo cockend are all known to be a bit hit and miss. Clickbaiting at its best.

Of course, I could be miles wrong. Silly season is a bit of a mad time - and everyone loves to get embroiled it crazy deals. Why I said last night, it would make more sense if Fab was actually the one being targeted by one of the Saudi clubs.

Dear Hendo,
If you want to be a legend, this is how you do it:
Play one more season at LFC helping us win trophies and get back into the CL, while mentoring the young midfielders at the club.
Next summer, leave on a free and go back to Sunderland. Spend the twilight of your career helping them get promoted from whatever league they’re in. Receive hometown adulation.
Become manager of Sunderland, get them into PL, beat Newcastle on the last day of the season ensuring Liverpool win the league.
Legend status in two cities guaranteed.

Well, so far the reports are that personal terms are agreed. It’s down to clubs.

Think we might be trying too hard to portray it like this is all fabrication and Hendo doesn’t want to go there. Like when Bellingham to Real was a lie…

Sure, big turns can happen, but what are we doing here then, also when we are linked to players. Better not to follow anything, because there’s no journalist/media out there that is right 100% of the time?

There’s definitely something in this, as it has been reported by the most reliable journalists: Reddy, Ornstein, Jones, Romano, and King, who ghostwrote Henderson’s autobiography.

Would imagine that it’ll go through soon.

I would believe the personal terms being agreed would likely have happened in 20 min.

Saudi bloke - 700,000 a week ok?

Hendo - What about my rainbow laces?

Saudi bloke - Nah, only black allowed.

Hendo - Forget it. The lads on TAN’ll crucify me.

But they could be miles off is all I’m saying - nothing more or less than that. Social media and Saudi might be trying hard to make themselves look busy/attract starts, gain clicks

I’m not suggesting we don’t follow anything - I’m giving my opinion based on experience - that these stories are stories and not always accurate. I’m not suggesting anything else and not sure how you got that from my post.

My gut feeling is unchanged. Hendo captain of Liveprool this coming season.

Yeah well, could, might…

If this was all not happening, Hendo’s team would’ve possibly voice their stance by now. This has gone a bit further than “interest from Saudi”, “Saudi considering Hendo” or whatever. There’s talk about personal terms agreed, wages, prices and stuff. Wouldn’t say that’s just for gaining clicks. Why Hendo then, if that was the case. He is Liverpool captain, but surely there are more spectacular players out there.

There are no guarantees he ends up there, but going by filtering sources, exactly how we do it when we are linked with players (and especially the ones we like), this seems like it’s no fabrication and it’s closer to happening than not.

interesting take:

One important point with some of the Saudi offers. They are often made in one payment and without add-ons. This is why sometimes (not always!) seemingly ‘lowball’ fees are tabled. Can still prove strong business for selling clubs who want money upfront and wages off the bill

Yeah, that’s what I was wondering as well. I think there isn’t much room for paying in parts, bonuses, percentages, clauses and the lot with Saudis. But Hendo being 33, it’s not like we’re looking far into the future with him.

Big IF here, but if rumours are to be believed It’s looking like the absolute worst case scenario could happen which is Henderson’s agreed to go damaging his reputation and credibility as well as his position as club captain and reputation with the fans, then the Saudi’s pull the plug because they don’t want to pay what it takes to get him.

We’re stuck with a player who has explicitly said he doesn’t want to be here, whose on field contributions are diminishing and whose leadership credentials are in shreds.

And that’s not even mentioning the trouble I personally am going to get in when my boss realises how little work I’ve done the last two days.

I think if the deal falls through , Henderson has to look for an alternative move. There’s no way he can stay in the club.

I don’t see it like that. It’s not like is sabotaging training, inventing back issues like Coutinho or something.

This guy deleted his exclusive news he put out on Wednesday that Hendo would NOT join Saudi, so let’s see.
