Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

If you looking for Bellingham and can’t find him, just look for Trent and/or Hendo. Like glue.

It’s happening.

He first looked at Hendo before reacting.

“Can I come, captain?”

It’s on. :bulb:

I wonder if Jude had told the journos that if any ask about his possible transfer he would end the interview? Perhaps thats what he meant by saying that the guy had spoiled it for everyone now. Either way both him and Hendo seemed to be taking the question in good spirits but i wont read anything into it until i see the lean

When you see the protection that Henderson is giving Bellingham against the media it really leaves one question… How is Harry Kane the captain over Henderson?

Kane would be spitting all over him.

Is it going to be a back to back to back tripod lean against Trent and Hendo?

Henderson aside, I’ve never understood Kane being national side captain when he’s not even captain at his club.
Is he even vice captain at Spuds?
I’m not interested enough to google it.

I don’t think Kane should be England captain.

One possible explanation as to why Southgate didn’t choose Henderson is that he might not have thought he would definitely pick him, and he was only in the “maybe” group.

I disagree, but presumably that entered Southgate’s thought process.

I think Southgate went for the most popular option at the time. The lack of playing time also probably as you said weighed on his mind.

That is literally it. It makes sense, except it allows the faulty logic of not treating Hendo as a key player in his own right as being legitimate.

Players like Hendo are really misunderstood. When he finally starts getting plaudits, its still typically done in a back handed way. He’s a great leader. He’s a great guy to have around. All of this sort of talk treats him like he’s the guy who has the big car so can get all the lads to the away game, or the guy whose wife is willing to wash the kit. He isn’t flashy and tends to keep things simple, but one of the things that has always stood out with him from a young age was how quickly he plays the game in his head, which allows him to make good decisions and do simple looking things that are effective. There isn’t a more important talent in football.

One of the things that has always annoyed me about Hendo is how overlooked his ability on the ball is. I appreciate he isn’t going to be playing 50 yard passes, like Trent or De Bruyne. But his ability to find the right pass at the right time is worth it’s weight in goal. The most recent example being the first against Ajax.

Sorry mate, you’re in a world of pure fiction here!

 I was trying to give him some benefit of the doubt.

It will be interesting to see how he approaches the France game. I want him to carry on with the midfield he has stumbled onto, but I fear Henderson will be sacrificed for three at the back, and the move will hand the initiative to France.

Maguire is going to struggle against the France attack. But even in a back three he will.

So Southgate might as well keep the front six he has been playing, and think about what problems he can cause the opponent. I fear a cautious approach, and a limp exit.

Fairly sure I heard Ferdinand say something like, Kyle Walker is the only right back who can keep Mbappe quiet.

We’ll see if that statement ends up being every bit as wacky as, Utd are back, Ole’s at the wheel.

Interesting to note that Southgate saw no issue to start Henderson again.

He definitely sees him in the team now.

Ferdinand is an idiot, and that is tempting fate.

My own thinking would be that while you try to stifle Mbappe, the balance of effort has to go towards working out how to hurt France. Mbappe will still probably get his goal no matter what England do, but instead of shrinking back, I would play to the attacking strengths we have seen and deploy the same front six, with more talent to come in form the bench as needed.

I’ve solved it.

with Naby still at the club, Bellingham can’t get the #8 jersey which he’ll wear in 22/23 season.

Henderson taking young Jude under his wing like Gerrard did for him when he joined the club at 21.
