One kiss is all it takes…

It’s not happening.

The level of silliness in this thread is astounding… you’re all like a bunch of young virgins, dreaming on about the beautiful prince… get a grip, lads, Bellingham is no prince who’ll take ye on his white horse ffs!

If he does come to Liverpool , I will buy a hat and eat it.

110m and 1 quid should do it then.

I don’t understand this fatalistic approach that we won’t get him. We have, in my opinion, the best chance.

People will point to the money that other clubs have, but I don’t see this as that much of a problem. Once Bellingham has decided where he wants to go, Dortmund will need to be realistic on the price - there won’t be a ‘bidding war’ (its notable how few bidding wars materialise in transfers). As long as clubs don’t be pricks, and put a fair value down Dortmund will negotiate.

Bellingham himself doesn’t seem to be motivated by money, so I think this isn’t going to sway him too much.

In the end I think his closeness to Hendo and Trent, and the fact that he, and all family are all reds, will have a huge part to play.

At this early stage of his career, he strikes me as a player that wants to become the best at what he does first and foremost… The ridiculous riches can come along a tad later

There’s next to no chance he leaves next month so lets just wait and see where we finish the season…come 6 months time & we find ourselves outside the top 4 then it’s safe to say we can forget about the possibility of a deal transpiring.

Right now I’d say we have as good as chance as anyone, the bond he has with Hendo and Trent the relationship Klopp has with BVB as well as the affection from the fans for him to join…I’m sure he looks through his social media from time to time and he see’s the number of Liverpool fans calling for him…doubt they’ll be many Madrid fans doing likewise.

That’s a fair point. We do need top four.

That ‘good pals’ thing is overrated in here I think. He can stay good friends with Hendo and Trent and still go elsewhere.

As for the bidding war thing, you are probably right: there will be no bidding war. Abu Dhabi will propose £150 millions, Dortmund will accept the fee, and that will settle it. Among the sports-washing clubs, PSG aren’t in the running, and Newcastle aren’t yet at the point where they can attract this kind of players.

Real Madrid, as for all players, will be attractive for him, but maybe at his young age, he wants to go to England now. In that case, Abu Dhabi are huge favourites to land him imo, as they can outbid anyone, pay wages like nobody else, and have the best chances for big trophies. In short: a no-brainer for anyone who isn’t a die-hard Liverpool fan and hasn’t too much problems with being paid with blood money (most footballers don’t, or are yet unaware of that).

They are spending £50mil on Endrick apparently, so makes sense they have some limitations.

We were saying the same thing about Van Dijk before we got him.

Man City can bid a gazillion pounds and Dortmund can accept it. But if Bellingham doesn’t want to go there, it isn’t happening.

Sometimes we make the mistake of believing that players don’t have any agency. That it’s a transaction between two clubs, and the player goes where he is told. Not always the case.

I’ll put my cards on the table. Think the price will be around the £100m mark, and we’ll get him.

The argument for the case is not that they are friends, but that Hendo has become a valuable mentor for him. That may not be sufficient to dictate where he goes next, but the value of it is maximized by them working together on a daily basis.

You have the choice between Vini and Jude or Mbappe…

Who you taking?

Jude. All day long.

Jude Bellingham, no brainer.

If Mbappe wasn’t such a dickhead it would be him no question. Goals win games and he’s pretty good at scoring them. But as he is a right tool it’s got to be Bellingham.

Don’t think there’s much to say “confident we’ll get him” nor “confident we won’t”.

We’re up against some of the best clubs/sides in the world.

Will we have to improve in the 2nd part of the season? Yeah.

This is going to be a tight one next summer. Sometimes we’ll manage to get these over the line, sometimes not.

I think we will get Bellingham too, for around the £100M mark. I think Real Madrid will still be there in 5-6 years if he fancies that move, but the next stop will be Liverpool or Man City. Hopefully it is us.

If we don’t finish top four, then we can kiss it goodbye. On a related note, if Newcastle manage to finish top four, I think they will be in for him too.

As it stands, it is premature for them to go for this type of player. But they appear to be on an accelerated pace (one might say “cheat mode”) for what they want to achieve. When the Saudis came in they downplayed expectations and talked about a ten year plan and so on. I’m sure that’s still the case and they have long term ambitions. But if top four comes into play sooner rather than later, Newcastle will be much more of a threat to us than they have been.
