Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

Last time I played Fifa UT, 86 Vini was 800k and 94 Lewa/Kane were 40k…granted not the same as FM but same concept with those knob suckers at EA.

If our squad wasn’t so badly in need of reconstruction and we rewind all the way back
to the summer of 2020 off the back of the league then yes, you can throw everything in getting a 19 year old Jude.

Some players are worth shelling out that extra for, especially when they haven’t turned 20 yet.

“86s” are available every single window. 19 year old "92"s come by once in a generation.

Our squad isn’t so badly in need of reconstrucción. This is a nonsense.

We need at the moment 2 CM and a CD.

Jude is a very good player and it seems on a trajectory to become a great one. What I have a problem with this transfer rumour is that firstly it is as if Jude is the only very good player that we can buy this summer. And secondly, that it will be used to beat the club and the owners if we do not buy this 100m player and instead say buy two 40m ones, that we are skint and cheapskate.

If the club doesn’t buy Bellingham, and he ends up with Man City, especially, there will be an uproar and deservedly so. At first.

If the club does great business otherwise and ends up competing for titles again, that uproar will die down.

From your POV, what constitutes to good business done?

I think Arthur has a higher chance of being here next session than Bellingham.

In a season! Dixie Dean only managed 60.

If he’s the only midfielder we are bringing in, then yes it would be shades of Manchester United. Massive player on massive wages with the expectation of being the big difference. If he does a grade 3 hamstring tear in a preseason game then what?

I am hoping desperately that we also bring in a £25m-40m midfielder as well (price is not really the point but that’s the sort of additional quality I am talking about) so that we don’t have all the eggs in the Bellingham basket even after we’ve purchased him, if it in fact happens.

So who do we are going to sell to finance Bellingham and some? Don’t think FSG will come up with the money since Henry stated that they will invest responsibly (read, sell before we buy).

Still curious to find out if Bellingham is a guy who wants to push the train or one who is merely interested in jumping on an already great-moving train …

We are re-signing Lucas arent we

Is that a recent comment? If not, we will continue doing what we have always done and be lean in times when we don’t need to spend big then go big when the squad has problems.

Hypothetical. We sign only JB. He gets badly injured quickly. We have a worse season than this. I’d keep Klopp till the end of time even if it turns out he drowns cats and has a poster of SAF over his bed. But others are not so loyal (and have shit memories).

Would he take that risk? I doubt it because he might already be planning to not be here in 5/6 years when JB hits his best. Fans and owners are not known for appreciating long term planning with the squad. We want shiny things, now.

Yes, he gave an interview to the Echo right after the 7-0.

We havent really got anyone to sell - Salah and Alisson maybe but thats it.
No one else can command a better fee than we paid for them.

You really think Robbo would not fetch above £8M or Trent would go for nothing?

But why would you sell those? Who you replacing them with?

why would we sell Salah or Alisson as we don’t have anyone to replace them either.

You said, we have noone else that would command a higher fee that what we paid, nothing about wto replace said players with. I gave 2 examples of players we would defiitely get higher sale prices that what we paid for.

The beauty of Cou leaving was that it was win win. He wanted to go and we wanted the money. Currently we have (seemingly) a settled squad at least in terms of those on long contracts. Naby might stay but only because leaving will mean he has to walk out of the physios’ room.

Realistically, there’s nobody we can sell to generate anything like the JB money. Of course at some point we need to talk about Salah. Wasn’t he brilliant against United, why do I think he will be against City as well? Call me cynical.

I find talk about any player that is absolutely required, whether its Robbo, Trent, Virg, Ali, Konate, is pointless. Removing any of those would require further outlay to replace. Some like Trent need to get their head sorted first and foremost. I hope for him its reversible.

Salah is probably the only one we could potentially sell where we might just scrape by if we got lucky in terms of injuries.
