Exactly. Everyone is comfortable with what’s going to happen but to smooth the deal with Palace we’ve agreed to hold off until after the Community Shield or until they have their replacement in.
No part of me thinks we go into a season with three centre backs again, not after what happened last time. Focus has been on Ekitike and now Isak which to me suggests the CB thing isn’t an immediate concern to the team because it’s all lined up.
Unfortunately Gomez Achilles injury means we need to prioritize a cb replacement asap. I still think Guehi makes a lot of sense. But we might need to pay 40 rather than 35 because they know we need a cb now.
Could you mattty? Also can you pass on that we will need to replace Virg and Konate in the future too so they don’t forget to keep looking after this window.
Yeah just met up for Hughes in a Bournemouth pub he’s topping up on his tan but when I told him the urgency of the situation he downed his pint and left. Bastard didn’t pay.
A lot of people seem to be assuming that he’s going to come to LFC, but the fact that he probably wouldn’t be first choice is very likely to be a stumbling block, especially in a WC year. Does he want to spend the season on the bench hoping for an injury or drop in form from Konate?
He might well get plenty of games for us, but it would be a big gamble from his side, and one that could go very wrong.
If he has any self confidence and worth ge will look to sign for Liverpool. Playing ten games for Liverpool is equivalent of a full season for Palace when you are seeking attention from Tuchel and co.
That World Cup factor shouldn’t be overrated in my opinion.
If that is so massively important to him (I get it), then bloody stay at Palace for one more season. No? You want a bigger team? Then tell me which team, out of the ones that even want you (I have no idea)… where will you be guaranteed to start, to accomplish it all?
Looking at what England have (or haven’t got) at CB, it wouldn’t be impossible for Guehi to be in that squad even if he comes to Liverpool and doesn’t play every single minute next season.
He’s not the only CB. But Guehi counts as an English player and he’s good enough to play at Liverpool’s level. We all know a premium price comes with English quota.
I do think Guehi is likely, I just don’t know when the deal will happen and the exact amount. We might be waiting to sign Isak before going for Guehi.
