Whatever the reason, we are less than 2 weeks away from the start of the new season and we have 3 senior CBs, one of whom is currently injured.
I’m starting to think that they see Robertson as a viable option for the position.

I think they see him as an option but the fact that Endo is starting this alongside Konate would suggest he isn’t seen as much more than an option. There is evidently a gap that needs filling and I don’t think the club are going leave that unaddressed on the hope of Robbo and/or Endo feed into it well.
Maybe Guehi isn’t the option, but I’d expect we sign someone I can see that Greek lad probably being a deal we do. I’m not too bothered if we take it up to the line as long as we get someone in.
I think he want to add an experienced CB like Guehi and a young CB who we can develop long term. We need four/five options at CB considering Konate and Gomez’s injury records.

You dont need 5 cbs 2 rbs and 2lbs in a squad. If Bradley wasn’t made of wet paper you would have signed a CB to play right back.
I certainly think it will be very careless if we don’t add another central defender before the window closes. After doing so much good work in the market, that is leaving ourselves very vulnerable.
I fully expect we will add one, but if not, it’s grounds for legitimate complaint, strange as that sounds after an amazing window overall.
Obviously, the earlier you do your business the better, and we have done that with most of our signings, but central defence is still lacking,
Like all good reds I love Robbo, but if we are seeing him as a central defensive option, ugh! Most teams in the Prem have a decent striker who can put themselves about a bit, and they will position themselves to try to go up against Robbo every time if he is playing there. Any time there is a corner, or a set piece, they will pile their big players around Robbo too. He would be on a hiding to nothing.

Is that like when everyone was crying about Grav last summer. The way you are going on you would think Robbo is 5 foot 2.
We’re a CB down from last season. Quite obviously Quansah needs replacing.

Considering club is looking at Guehi seems they understand this.
They’ve been looking at him for a long time. What do you think they’re looking for?

I would have thought if the club wanted Guehi enough they would have signed him by now, or there would have been much more noise around the move. I think we’re more likely to be looking at other options.

Well it did happen quite quickly, there was interest but nothing massively concrete in our move and then Newcastle tried to get him and all of a sudden we acted on him and Isak.
I’m not an idiot I do remember what happened.
Like what RM did with Trent, we’ll do the same with Guehi and get him for free next season.
Hopefully he won’t go out a PL winner
