Marc Guehi (CB) Crystal Palace

Near enough i believe.

Or they lose 35m if he sees out his contract, fear of loss is far greater :face_blowing_a_kiss:

And if he helps them win the conference league or another domestic cup/ achieve a higher league finish they stand to make more money out of keeping him. :face_blowing_a_kiss:

They’ve put a price on what they thinks he’s worth to their season, and tbh for a player of his calibre at his age it’s a fair price.

Nice interview on the BBC

Some extracts

Kelly: Are you a sociable person?

Marc: Yes, but I don’t have many friends. All my friends are either in different countries or live in Manchester or Liverpool so it’s hard to connect.

:eyes:

Kelly: What’s the one match that stands out from your career?

Marc: The FA Cup final? No, no…not for me. That’s not even great… I see that more for the football club and the fans. I’m really happy for them. But for me… I don’t think I have one if I’m being honest, just because I think that is still to come. There will be one to come at some point in my career but not now.

Uh huh

Well that’s a player that sounds like he is happy at Palace.

Fuck me, thats the captain of the club doing an interview where he was prepared? Can’t connect in that London and the FA Cup (the first silverware ever for the side he captains) is ‘not even a stand out game’ Wow.

I have a feeling this will be done this summer.

We have been saying that 4 weeks now.

Ok great stuff, it’s bank holiday weekend go and cheer yourself up.

Point is he hadn’t put out something so meh a day or two back. It evidently doesn’t make out he rushed off to get a drugs test.

I dunno sounds like a bit of a sourpuss to me

Linked with City today.

If the sticking point is 5 million like is being touted, over a five year contract it’s bugger all.
.
I understand we can get him for free next year but we actually need him or someone this year.

There’s not much in the difference so if he had 2-3 years left on his contract would we pay the money being asked, would we pay more?
If he’s the one we have identified then bring him in rather than lose him for 5 million, when we know we’d happily pay more if he wasn’t in his last year.

Linked by me with City yesterday!

If we want this player then we need to pull our finger out.

If he wants to go to City, fuck him.

I’m actually wondering if the sticking point is more with the player. Early on he seemed to indicate that he wanted a guaranteed first team place. Could he be considering waiting to see if Konaté signs?

If it’s guaranteed playing time he wants then he won’t be off to City.

Gvardiol, Stones, Dias, Ake, Akanji, Kushanov all already on the books. Yes he’s probably fitter and better than some but he’d hardly be a shoe-in.

To be honest, if he doesn’t think he could oust Konate from the line up I’d question whether he’s the player for us.

if youre good enough you back yourself.
he only has to look at Konates last 2 games to know youd walk into the 11

Im just amazed Quansah left 2 months ago and we still havent got a CB in. Yet again the sqaud is painfully short

This is exactly the scenario Crystal Palace were hoping for.

If true.

He wouldn’t bother going to City. He would be bench warming at times. Here if he can’t oust an injury prone defender who is winding down his contract then he deserves CP.
