Marc Guehi (CB) Crystal Palace

The slight difference being this is the way it has been for Gomez for some years as a full grown man; whereas there is a sense that at least some of Bradley’s issues are to do with growth, and there is some hope that his record will improve.

Obviously our medical department will know what’s what, but it seems plausible to me.

We also have players leave for nothing.

According to the BBC sports App we have tabled a formal £35M bid for Mark Guehi today and LFC do not do that unless they were encouraged by Parish.

Yeah all the usual ones have mentioned it

The thing about this deal that irritates me is why we didn’t get it wrapped up before the start of the season. We’re going to save FA here by waiting till deadline day and we’ve lost that time integrating the player while palace have got to play him to win the CS and European qualification. If we’ve not got a discount after all that we haven’t really done very well at all here.

Perhaps Parish wouldn’t sell him then.

Imo there seems to be an internal battle between Glasner and Parrish, and Guehi was really needed for them to qualify, and for Palace also was a lot of money at stake. I think, if the Conference League mess hadn’t happened and Palace had definitely landed in the Europa League, we probably would have signed him much sooner.

So we have Forest to thank for that. Forest sent a legal team to fight against the Palace appeal.

Bit of a mess from all sides. Bit of an arbitrary March 1 deadline set by UEFA and Textor and Palace should have known the consequences long ago.

He would for £40m. They said that.

Could be the Guehi replacement or maybe not, at least a new CB for Palace

Is that our Sissoko?

Hopefully he’d be easy to deal with…

Maybe, but we’re not dealing with him.

Yet. Apparently he’s the head of an agency. No doubt got several swords in the fire

We left it late to try get him cheap seems its not worked.

How’s it not worked? The window is still open and they haven’t rejected our bid.

In fact the suggestion was it was 40-45m we’ve already converted that to 35m plus add ons apparently as an offer from them.

I expect this gets done.

There was plenty of talk saying we believed 25m was about the right amount. Now is 35m with 5m in achievable add ons.

I don’t think I ever remember 25m, in fact we put a 35m bid in after the community shield and it wasn’t rejected outright according to Joyce so I assume that was always the figure.

Agree. Isak is out of our control but the Guehi, Tsimi and potentially JoGo business has underwhelmed, tbh.

It’s always been them wanting 40m and us offering 35m.

Obvious thing is to agree on 37.5m

No idea why that should take all summer.

Guehi for 40 is still cheap for a 23 yr old of his ability and potential, not as cheap as we were aiming for, but still cheap.

Tsimi or Robbo was always gonna go this window - Tsimi on loan means he comes back next season when Robbos contract is up as the back up lb. Saves us from looking for another lb next season to come in as back up.

Joemez I would prefer to keep, but if we get a decent fee I suppose it would afford more game time to Leoni albeit as a FB in some games (which used to be a standard means of getting a young CB game time)
