Marc Guehi (CB) Crystal Palace

Sides will be aware of many things, just like in a recent case of a Liverpool player moving to Spain…

I am so gutted for Guehi. He must be devastated about his dream move gone.
I hope we can ask for him at Christmas time. He’s had his medical.

We don’t need to worry about pre-agreements in Jan with other clubs, he’s already pre-agreed to the move and besides what other club out there that’s more attractive is going to pip us to him? There simply isn’t.

If he knows we’re still interested in him (& he will), then it’s only a matter of when not if.

@jabu not a word in Jan

I’m not sure Santa’s elves have the ability to knock up a Marc Guehi, no matter how good Slot and Hughes have been this year.

He would have to do another medical.

So, you’re new here? A lot to learn about the forum I see

Disappointed for Liverpool and the player but these things happen, both did all they could and are not at fault but it requires all parties to do their part and Palace couldn’t complete the deals they needed.

Wonder if Dom is also surprisingly effective at centre back?

I have zero confidence in Palace lining up a defensive replacement in the winter window if they weren’t able/willing all summer. Any decent defender with World Cup ambitions is unlikely to want to move in that window.

Yeah, mince pies can play havoc with your sprint speeds.

Oh great, now I want to eat away my disappointment with a Costco mince pie :pie:

It would be hilarious if his form for Palace collapses after this…

Pics Indy, pics!!!

The reason you have pre agreement is that for a player you don’t want the nightmare scenario of getting a long term injury just as your contract is about to expire.

Say a playeri has an informal agreement to come to a club on a free signing. On the last day of the season he does his ACL. The club would then (depending on the club) pull out, leave the player without a deal, and required to do their own rehab and recovery. Some players want the security of knowing they are under contract.

35 own goals when we play them should make the point

There is loads to unpick with this, but the biggest issue is that it’s a really, really odd move from Parish.

Apparently Glasner told him he can’t guarantee him minutes, then the deal collapsed.

That’s a bit weird
