The worry for me is having to place quite so much faith in a teenager with a dozen Serie A games under his belt, and a guy who can’t stay fit for two consecutive matches. But fingers crossed Virgil and Ibou can stay fit…
They’re not getting involved, they know he’s ours. The groundwork is done, the agreement is done. It’s a matter of time.
Well, where to begin with this…
Palace find themselves with an unhappy player, and a rift between head coach and ownership. The squad must be unsettled as well. I’d not be surprised if they struggle this season, Guehi or not . Glasner proves to be a bit of a lunatic on that occasion , and the upstairs department looks weak.
As for us, we find ourselves without an important reinforcement at CB.
Oh well… at least, Leoni has been brought in (let’s hope that he can rapidly perform at a sufficient level for us) and Gomez stays put, which is good news.
And if we really need and want Guehi, we can still come back in January for another attempt.
He did everything else except the one thing that would guarantee him a move.
Pretty naive of him.
IMO this should give us a chance to explore better options
Yo! Dom! It’s Slotta. Yeah…just landed. Haha, yeah. I’ll bring you back some clogs. Hey…listen…sorry for the bother but have you ever played in the centre of a back four?
Glasner is obviously looking beyond Palace, and it sounds a lot like this power struggle between him a Parish has been coming for a while. It’s all good and well wanting replacements, but if Glasner himself is sabotaging those deals by underselling the club to potential players (as seems to be the case) then the owner really should be putting him foot down.
Glasner threatening to hand in his resignation should prompt one one response from Parish, and that’s ’off you go, then’.
Parish allowing Glasner to win this struggle, means that his club loses £35m so that the manager can continue to present his own credentials in the best light, so he can get his move to a bigger club when it comes along.
I would bet he’ll be the United Manager before New Year.
I’m not sure I understand the anger towards Palace. They had to replace their club captain, probably the best English defender in the country and they knew they were getting only around £35m for him. Replacing that is hard.
I expect they’ll be working on a deal now for January and Liverpool will be waiting to make a bid.
The only real loser here is Guehi but I expect he’ll be a professional and do his job. He seems that kind of character. He’ll eventually be a Liverpool player.
For all the talk of Liverpool’s pursuit of Isak and Guehi it seems, from the outside at least, that we have once again been thoroughly professional in our dealings. We’ve only bid when we received word that the other club were open to it, its those teams internal battles that have scuppered deals or made things drag on so long.
I think Guehi is seen as van Dijk’s successor. Not overly worred about foreign clubs in January. I doubt anyone else can offer such an enticing prospect to him as taking over from the greatest of all time. Probably a route to club captaincy here too eventually.
Just a matter of time.
Come on down Giovanni Leoni… The stage is yours..!!
If Joe can play his part and get some game time, Ibou similar attitude, fitness and game time… The young lad will just have to prop up anything that rattles loose until the January window..!
EeeeeK.!
I have my doubts. We’ve been saying this all window
Why though?
Do you know the relationship between the 2? Glasner was quite open about the conditions of a Guehi sale…they haven’t been met and perhaps Parish accepts the fault for this.
Not all owners are egotisitical twats like Marinakis or the bellend at Watford, some actually appreciate their managers body of work.
Glasner is an egoistic moron. You could see him pulling up Guehi when he was saying his good bye few days back after winning a game.
Disappointing for sure but kind of exciting to see what Leoni might be able to do when the chance arises.
More of a concern is the forward line. Still not convinced Slot trusts Chiesa and Rio is very young. December could be very interesting with Mo away.
Parish or their transfer department are to blame here. You can’t leave it that late.
Haha…joke’s on you.
He didn’t cost us anything.
Ultimately they can change their mind at any time so long as they haven’t put pen to paper on anything, technically they haven’t breached any terms.
Besides we’ve allowed ourselves for this to drag on for 5 weeks at our expense, this could’ve been done much earlier if we had communicated the proper conditions of a sale.

Making me watch this cunt. Not happy.
He’s probably celebrating with a deep-fried kebab.
Secret footage of Parish’s meeting with Glasner to explain the club’s inability to replace Marc Guehi has been released:
