Isn’t this what Indykalia said which I think is questionable at best.
Joyce. Guehi will reject any contact offer from Palace
Looks like Guehi is earning 50k a week. Amounts to 2.4m a year.
Anything stopping him from breaking that contract ?
Why? Hes contracted to CP, do we really want to be having another player that breaks a contract? They did what they did for whatever reason , just accept it and stop looking to post a hundred posts about hoping he goes on strike.
Its done he’ll either be here in january or next summer or not.
Just stating that Palace won’t win the case.
I don’t want him to go down to the Isak/Wissa/Gyokeres level. But it is what it is.
Poor Glasner, for a moment I thought he was a United player.

More I read the more I expect a deal will be done in January regardless.
It’s really all on Palace.
Yeah, there are no indications that he plans to do anything to force his way out. Perhaps he will step down as captain, and at this point he pretty clearly plans to leave on a free in June, so Palace as a consequence may use the time to try to line up a replacement and see if they can resurrect this deal. From what I have seen so far, Palace doesn’t come out well, Guehi does.
Yup, that’s how I see it as well. I can’t see Glasner and Parish getting on as if nothing had happened. This will keep a lasting rift between them, and Glasner will be gone at the first hint of a difficulty. Three-four defeats in a row for instance? Parish will pull the plug. I can’t see Glasner lasting the whole season.
I’ll be interested to see whether Guehi manages to keep his full intensity and dedication to the club with what has happened. If he manages to do it, then he’s a top pro, and we should really go after him again. If not, it will maybe be a sign that we’ve swerved a bullet.
Why would Glasner kill the deal for Igor, if Igor was the replacement for guehi that he was promised?
Because he didn’t want a replacement for Guehi.
So he just wanted Guehi. Risky game to play if you expect to be able to maybe shatter the hopes of that player and think there’ll be no consequences or potentially drop off in performance.
Well I’ve found the tune for his song when he lands…
‘Son Of A Preacher Man’
All we need now is a proper wordsmith to pen the verse :0)
Early life
Addji Keaninkin Marc-Israel Guéhi[4] was born on 13 July 2000[1] in Abidjan, Ivory Coast,[5] and moved with his family to Lewisham, London, England, at the age of one.[6] He attended St George’s Church of England School in Gravesend, Kent.[7] His father was a minister of a local church, meaning his childhood often focused on religion and education over football.[8] He began playing in the Cray Wanderers youth system aged six and was coached by a scout from Premier League club Chelsea.[6] After two years with the non-League club, he signed for Chelsea and progressed through the academy
I looked it up and Marc still lives at home with his mum and three sisters. The youngest is 12. There’s a lot to think about and sort out for a potential move. School, living situation, etc. You don’t start worrying about things like that after you’ve signed, tbf. Family is everything to him. It’s really not a great situation for everyone involved. Not to mention his career and the potential higher salary etc.
And now he’s supposed to go back and pretend nothing happened? To the manager who ruined everything for him at the last minute? I read that even his teammates at Palace were completely incredulous that the move didn’t happen. They were all really happy for him, with a farewell video and everything. Things probably won’t be harmonious there for a while.
Expect many more “rushing off for a drug test” situations.
So he can force Parish to keep Guehi.
I assume Parish has said on your head be it. He now has to manage a player he has stopped from leaving.
In fact the only way to placate that would be to sort a deal and for it to be confirmed on the 1st of January I feel.
Wouldn’t entirely surprise me if you see them down tools on Glasner anyhow, considering there is talk on how his team mates are gutted for him as well.
While I understand and to some degree share the sentiment, I think comparing it to the situation with Trent is simply wrong. There is nothing really comparable between the financial firepower of both clubs, nor what competitions we were both gunning for.
We rejected the £25m in January, where our progress in league, CL and domestic cups was already substantial. We had no need or wish to sell, and probably little in the way of opportunity to bring the right player in without disrupting things.
Palace in contrast accepted our offer because the money was worth a lot more to their club at this time. They need it to continue to build their team. They’re only starting the season so are further away from the certainties of generating the revenue from progression in these cups.
What they rejected was the loss of a key player and manager on the eve of the transfer window closing, not the loss of the player.
Will be the first thing he probably reminds him of if Glasner asks him next time to spend money on the squad.
It is very unlikely he will, knowing that he is out of contract in June. Perhaps through the Autumn, but if he gets to February he will be playing not to get injured.
