Fuck. Not only are they not selling us Zubimendi, but theyā€™re signing Alissonā€¦ and playing him up front.

Hoping for more of those killer headers, no doubt.

Well they donā€™t care about selling Merino because heā€™s shite, so makes sense.

Heā€™s probably seeing the news of how migrants are treated in the UK and thinking it might be best to stick with the mountains and good food

Sounds like my home - but I still had to leave it in order to fulfil my dreams, so thereā€™s that as wellā€¦

God that is a terrible take from Kelly. The lad is a highly regarded player with loads of options. Being willing to stay at a decent side in Spain until the right offer comes is a case of backing himself, not of being too scared to leave home comforts.

The lad Neil has a point. Sometimes you just have to accept ā€œI donā€™t want to leaveā€ to mean ā€œI donā€™t want to leaveā€ and not ā€œI donā€™t want to leaveā€¦unless you adhere to my demandsā€

The guy has chosen to stay despite Arsenal, Bayern and even Barca sniffing round him multiple times, that alone speaks volumes, heā€™s spent his whole life in the Basque region and will probably follow others such as Munian, Inaki, Inigo, Illarramendi, De Marcos etc whoā€™ve stayed put, but if we think we can convince him by offering more money and selling Sefton Park as a more glorious attraction than the mountains of San Sebastien, then thatā€™s cool too.

Nothing wrong about someone wanting to remain at his boyhood club.

The thing is, itā€™s not news. Apparently itā€™s been common knowledge that he would be very reluctant to leave for a long time, so why are we so publicly in for him?
It looks like we were given some kind of encouragement, maybe by the agent, who knows?

See my post earlier - weve thrown all our eggs in his basket despite him knocking back other big teams. Its a massive risk and Ive a feeling he will stay there.

Thatā€™s the problem. Barca only sniff. They have not had the money to do any more, but have made clear that once they do they would like him and so his refusal to take up other offers has largely been viewed as keeping himself available for the summer when Barca finally have the money to make something happen. He will understand there is a window that will close for that being a reasonable attitude to his career. But he shouldnt be judged negatively for wanting to carefully consider if that time is now.

I know you like to over drama absolutely everything but how have we thrown all the eggs in one basket.

Weā€™ve thrown all our eggs in one basket, mortgaged our future and made ourselves a laughing stock!

These people do not know the player or his mentality. He plays for the club he loves and grew up supporting, they also happen to be pretty damn good.

We expect this from Liverpool players but criticise it in those who do it with other clubs?

Transfers, with the exception of the Fabinho one, always seem to be reported like thisā€¦

  1. Club X want to sign player Y
  2. Player Y is keen on the move but no agreement with Club Z.
  3. Club Z are not prepared to sell and are trying to convince Player Y to stay
  4. DEAL IS OFF! PLAYER Y IS HAPPY TO STAY AT CLUB Z.
  5. Deal agreed between Club X and Club Z, medical expected tomorrow.
