Mo... blah blah blah... talk about it here

Under what circumstances does it make sense to offer him an extension?

Don’t want to sell until we can buy a replacement and I will be happy if we hold the line until January, or summer. I am assuming January or summer would still yield £150M.

If £150M is the likely achievable price THEN, what is the lowest price I would consider NOW, given the disruption to our season?

Probably £300M.

It would be enough to finish the rebuild of Klopp 2.0, albeit in January/Summer.

The question to ask is can we stay competitive until January, without Mo? I think we can.

Not sure how we would approach it, but Diaz, Nunez, Gakpo, Jota and Doak still gives us good options. Arguably Szoboszlai can play on the right too, especially now that we have other midfield options. And Elliott could play there too.

If the offer is less than £300M it is a definite no for me.

Again more vague to be nothing.

Why would a delegation matter, Gordon’s response is still no.

They need Salah to actively force a move and I don’t think he is or will.

I just wouldn’t sell him now, they had all summer to go for this “dream move”.

This.

Go fuck yourself you Saudi wankers!

They could go up the M62 and buy Antony.

A week ago I told the Saudis to fuck off……mmmm then again everyone has a price.

Agree with this, although I can’t see them offering 300 million. If I were FSG I would do a deal at 200 million if it were offered and if Mo wanted to move, either now or next year.

As @MarcusBerglund said, maybe doing a Keita type deal would be an option, only if Mo actually wanted to go there.

I am sure we will get Bowen in January or next summer as his contract expires on 2025. Else we would have definitely got someone like Chiesa/Fati/Bokoyako in this window. My personal choice will be Bowen for 2 years until Doak progresses further. Bowen will do very well in our team.

Think Klopp will also move Szaboszlai to the wing - that could be one reason we bought Gravenberch.

according to Indy theyve bid £217m…probably bollocks

daily mail stating £215 million so indy is just raising it slightly to make out that he’s on par with the mail…not that it means he’s just as unreliable :joy:

mail saying its £185m with £30m add ons…so not £215m.
the club are in a difficult situation here. If thats true thats a lot of money that could buy us 3 or 4 players. But we cant do anything until Jan but the best players wont be allowed to leave in Jan esepcially if still in Europe so we cant do anything until just under a years time.
We hve to turn it down but it would be helpful if Mo was come out and say he wont be going. Could shut all this noise down instantly.

Not saying there is any truth to it…but the part of the mail saying he will be offered £2.45 million pw…as crazy as it is, if that were true, seriously I’d expect him to be gone by the week’s end.

too big a money to test waters. Next will be 300 million and we will accept it. It will be 250 million + 50 million add-ons. There is a method to this madness but we will take the 3rd bid and Salah moves on as the club will accept the bid. Salah always will be a legend. Best fairy tale ending will be we accept a say 200 or 250 million bid for Salah now and he moves to Saudi next season. They create very good hype and anticipation amongst their fanbase. Salah gives his all for us and everygame at Anfield will be like a send-off for him. We win the League and everyone is happy!!!

We are not going to be buying Jarrod Bowen. As much as you fancy him , he’s not of the standard required

Investing in the future of this club?

Instead of bringing in one or two players with that money we can bring three or four players.

What happens if we keep Mo? Maybe we can challenge City for the title and even if we might miss out in the end.

Without him I think we will still reach the Top4 which - after what happened last year - was always the minimum aim for this transition season.

I’d say it’s a flat no for this window. No fee is worth it if we can’t replace him in the squad now.

Summer 2024 maybe, but it’s going to take a sizeable fee and we don’t care if he’s only got a year left. It needs to be comfortably north of £100m up front, it needs to be sorted by the end of June and it needs Salah to come out and say he wants to go to make it clear that it’s his choice.

But here and now, it’s a straight no.

And if possible i will bring in Edwards to spend the 300 million we will receive next season including the Champions League money. Whether he needs to spend or not its unto him but we need him and he hasnt joined any top club as far as i know.

This is the issue people seem to be forgetting, all the articles state that this team has to bid for him now, as one of the other Saudi teams have made plans to bid for him in 2024…I know it’s all bollix…as the 4 of them are PIF owned, was something written a while back that Saudi transfer budget this season is £13 billion (that’s just state owned I presume?)…don’t know if that also includes the wages they can offer as well but even so it’s ridiculous.

I cannot understand any Liverpool fan who is even remotely considering selling now.
Mo is one of the three best players to play for Liverpool in my (long) lifetime.
He’s better than Ronaldo. Look at the stats.
People want to replace him with an untried 17 yr old?!
We have no replacement, and we can’t get one until January at the earliest, when the season will be half over and all the selling clubs will know how desperate we are.
Selling Mo now would fuck up this season, probably jeopardise a chance of getting back in the CL, would create an image of us as a soft Saudi feeder club. It makes no sense for any amount of money. We’ll still get hundreds of millions next summer.
It would be a stupid move.
