As I had expected - some kind of behind closed doors handshake and it could all be gone.
10% wind tunnel time feels like RBR got off lightly.
Lightly?! This is nothing!! Fuck budgets. Let’s have a free-for-all
Good to finally see Mercedes win a race. Awesome job from George and Lewis.
Max showing his true class. Championship long won; was happy to sail pass Perez but refused to give the place back after he failed to get past Alonso. Hur hur. Grade A…
He thinks hes bigger than the team - hope RBR put that right.
Youre in the wrong thread @Maria
Oh Fudge!! Rupzzz, thanks alot. I haven’t been with it all week, had a bad toothache. I was hearing what happened in F1.
The thread said motorsports!
Nope. He has RBR in his pocket. Gutless.
Hope Checo doesnt heed to Max anymore. Albeit we know what will happen. Checo will get punted and Danny Ric will be promoted from reserve driver at some point next season.
I used to follow F1 when Prost and Senna were going at it. Brilliant stuff. Can anybody answer this question though please? Why are there so many ridiculous rules? Why not just limit top speed and be done with it? Limited numbers of engines? Vehicle dimensions to the mm? Tyres, fuel, engine all scrutinised? Why???
This is a wonderful archive footage of Lewis Hamilton as 12 year old who had dreams to be a F1 driver and the the racism he had to put up with in his early years.
Credit to Ferrari how they announced their new car.
Thought it was original and different to other teams and the usual norm, especially after a few years of Corona and what else.
They did it live from sunny Maranello, invited fans and Leclerc did two laps around Fiorano.
Nice.
Only managed 2 laps - more of the same reliability issues coming then
Saw Mercedes’ new car and my immediate impression was - holy shit that is slim fit.
I think they also stole a little bit from Ferrari last year, with those two lines from halo all the way towards the back, but in a much more connected and narrower way.
Doesn’t have to mean anything (if it’s fast and reliable enough) and it’s only one aspect of the car, but aerodinamically one would say that it has more sense this time.
Don’t know if my eyes are wrong, but to me, this has to be the “tightest” car on the grid.
It definitely looks good. Hopefully they have corrected the porpoising.
If the car is competitive, I feel Russell could be a dark horse.
Slim fit? I presume you’re talking about sidepods and rear packaging?
Merc had this zero pods philosophy in '22 as well. As had Williams but could not make it work and later in the season switched to “classic” RB style sidepods. Merc is keeping this design for now but are planning for different revisions in coming weeks. I guess all depends from testing results.
I was more surprised with their “black” livery. Williams had this color weight problems as well and there was less and less blue color during the season. Merc is obviously doing something similar with half a car in bare carbon.
They did, I know the principle remains the same (although done in a different way this year), but looking at the car from up top, it’s very narrow.
Yep… It doesn’t look like a natural f1 car
Seriously? “Drugovich”?
Tabloids are licking their lips hoping for some kind of PED violation or recreational drug use bust.
If any sport is ideally suited for streakers/track invaders then F1 is surely going to be up there with the ones that would make it interesting
