I wondered about Bobb as well, looked he was going to be special before his Injury at Man City. Doesn’t seem to have made much of an impression at Fulham over the last season however.

I have just noticed him playing for Norway.
He’s a very tidy player from what I can see. Keeps the ball well and helps keep possession, could be a good addition considering who we have.
He’s no flyer and when it comes to assists and goals he’s never going to get near Salah’s figures, I don’t think we need that and moving on wouldn’t be a bad idea.
He’s 22 so has time on his side. Definitely as good as any other player we could or would be interesting joining us imo.
Probably needs to brush up his defensive game.
In anycase I’m fed up with this ‘we need speed’ approach. We’ll just end up with a pale copy of Saka if we go down that line.

Neto is fast but he looks more likely to become the lethargic version of Adama Traore, all speed no direction.
I don’t remember who suggested playing Szoboszlai on the right, but it’s starting to look the more reasonable approach.
None of these options, Diomande included, seem to be at the required level and Szoboszlai has the tools to be effective there. Plus, it would open a pathway to bring in some reinforcements in midfield, which is also an area where improvement is needed.

Was having a look back through some older links to RW types wondering if maybe we see us revisit some of those previously on our radar.
Stumbled across Allan from Palmeires who we had some links to back in January. Left footed right winger and just about in our preferred age profile. Not a huge goal scorer but not all that dissimilar to Rayan before he moved over.
Other than those links and the obligatory YouTube compilation I know very little of him. But, if we expected another year out of Salah and the original intention had been to try and find some young and emerging this summer to try and have some continuity when Mo left you could imagine us being after a player like him. Maybe we have to settle for an option like this, alongside what we have already, until an elite option is possible .
The was Estevao and Rayan have taken to the league coming directly from Brazil possibly gives some added confidence that the step up isn’t as big as it might have been perceived.

Would also allow us to invest in midfield and then wait for a better right winger to be available.
In my view Szobo creates big issues in midfield because he can´t do the two roles required behind Wirtz. The other option is Wirtz on the left and Munoz and Rio on the right with a midfield 3 including Szobo. I wouldnt do this but its an option.
How about Haissem Hassan? He gave the argies a lot of problems and is relatively cheap at 12 million pounds..

I can see the logic though if there isn’t a suitable addition available for the right hand side this window, Rio has played there before and looked good in the England game before the world cup.
If next week its that the club hierarchy were impressed by Gakpo at the world cup so that’s our left side taken care of, Bajetic, Elliot and Tsimikas are like three new signings or the new manager will be given this season to assess the current squad then we can all officially start to panic

It does say in there the expectation is that we will sign another.
But I’m all in favour of finding Rio some minutes in different positions if it helps his development.

Gorst isn’t really that reliable and he’s even less reliable when he hedges his bets.
I’m still flying the Rayan flag as a good signing for the right side.

Wouldn’t the price be similar to Barcola? They just got him and he’s a remarkable player so I don’t see them selling for anything other than stupid money.
Fine by me. I think he’s got a much higher ceiling than Barcola, who we have no need for, and is a far better fit.

130m release clause is as high as it could go for Rayan. Big risk for a kid his age but unless we find a bargain somewhere, a lot of our potential signings are looking like a risk for a lot of money. I would be surprised if Minteh cost us less then 80m.
Agreed. Do you and others think Rayan is worth the 50m difference between he and Minteh? That’s a tough call. I haven’t seen enough of Rayan. Probably, based on his finishing? But then there’s CB and the 6 hole that need shoring up too. Tough call.

Yes what I like about Rayan is the amount of goals he got in half a season. Is he worth that much more then Minteh? Depends on how much both are able to raise their levels but I’ll leave judging that to people better at it then me. I just prefer thinking of it as the difference between the two players, instead of the total because of how crazy the money is either way!
Problem with half a season, is that the opposition won’t have had the chance to work him out and suus out his weaknesses.

, it’s clear that Minteh is incredibly active when it comes to pressing, as is Muñoz. Muñoz, Minteh, and Diomande are all elite dribblers, and while Rio is not far behind them, he losses the ball significantly more. It’s also impressive to see how well Minteh retains possession. On the other end, both Diomande and Barcola are much more effective at scoring goals.
However, Minteh suddenly looks like a very viable option imo. While his goal-scoring numbers are subpar, Brighton’s attacking line set up has been shit, then his output might not actually be as bad as the raw stats suggest.
