Post match: Arsenal v Liverpool (EPL 27/10/24 4.30pm)

Well…I was happier with the second half. Thought we were better organised and kept it in their half. It’s games like these that you need a little bit of individual brilliance …”a Bobby moment” ….so miss that man

Pretty dire game for the first hour, better 2nd half from us even if the tempo didn’t change much……game turned in our favour the minute Gabriel went off.

Both CB’s were incredible. The passage of play for the 2nd was beautifully crafted. Point is more than ok.

Onwards and up.

I’m not 100% sure about that, he’s conceded goals like those before.

Sure. But he’d have a better chance saving that.

I don’t want to seem like I’m digging him out, because I really do rate him, and we are lucky to have a number two of such quality. But there are times, and that goal is one, where he seems to shrink in the goal. He looks small.

If you imagine Alisson in there, Saka looks up and sees 6ft 4in of Brazilian beefcake on the near post - this massive wall of flesh - and he doesn’t even think about beating him at the near post. It’s an aura thing. Kelleher is really, really good, but he isn’t in Striker’s heads yet.

Really happy with a point there. Impressed how we stayed calm, even when not at our best, and showed resilience to come back twice.

Trent was having one of the worst games I’ve ever seen then plays a beauty of a ball for the equaliser.

People keep saying Salah past his best, gives the ball away etc. All true but he’s still our star man and as consistent as ever with goals and assists

Watched it on mute so didn’t get the narratives from the commentary. Thought we started great, despite their goal which was a lapse by Robbo. Got a deserved equalizer but then I thought Arsenal got on top of us with some really suffocating pressing for the rest of the first half. Credit to them they were superb in those 25 minutes.

After half time I thought we played great for the second half, beat the press regularly and stayed calm. There was a time at 75ish minutes and Arsenal won a throw in, camera flicked to show Arteta roaring at the crowd for it, my first reaction was “they are too emotional, stay calm the goal is coming” and sure enough it did with an excellent counter attack.

Will take 2-2 at the Emirates all day long. Happy with the performance, the grit and the composure.

Just an aside, but what why was the Remembrance Day minutes silence held today? I’d assumed that the international break would have been on then, but Arsenal are actually playing that day.

Congratulations to Arteta on turning Arsenal into a dirty team

They used to play honest, finesse filled footie - and they are now worse than his mentor’s Cheaters

Slot: “They (Arsenal) always fell down when they had ball possession. I said to Ibou: ‘This is a ****ing joke’, but the fourth official thought I was talking to him. I got a yellow for that!”

Not too unhappy with a draw TBH.
Not the best performance, not the worst.
2 tough home games next, be good to keep unbeaten momentum going

Considering we had the 2nd half ,we should have pushed more than we did.We got on level terms but never looked like we were gonna go for the win.

If we had scored earlier we may have done I think with the lack of options and tiredness.

Very poor first half but always felt in the second we would get a couple of chances and we did.

It’s a good place to go and get a point. Probably be a bit more disappointed if it was home but these were tough tests along with RBL in Germany and though the performances haven’t been amazing we’ve done enough in all 3 games I feel to get the results we have.
