First time in a few years were i didnt bother to wake up to watch a big LFC game. Even after getting up, ran a few errands before checking the resultā€¦ why expend the emotional energy when the owners dont give a shit except for the bottom lineā€¦

I alway defended Oliver that he is on of the few without a bias, I still do but today he and the VAR cunt were shite, just when we thought we did not need enough shite from them ā€¦

Working away in Portsmouth and just about managed to find a pub with commentary. Unfortunately, it was full of Gooners. Ended up talking to some lad who specialises in fitness data, he apparently worked for 10yrs at Dortmund and had regular interaction with Klopp. He couldnā€™t speak highly enough of him and he was supporting the Arse.

Regarding the game, it really is worrying. After the opening 5 mins - where we could have been 3 down - we controlled the game (first half) and were well worthy of going in 1-1 and on top but we then self combust.
Defensively, we are a nervous wreck. I do not like placing the blame on individuals as it is ultimately a team game but TAA was very poor defensively tonight. Standing square on for the first goal and then leaving his covering position for the second. These are the very basics of defending, if I saw this at a junior game I would be annoyed but in the PL it is inexcusable.
It is definitely not all TAAā€™s fault, as a team we are off the pace. We need to be more focused on keeping clean sheets. For a team already fragile in defence why are we only playing 2 CMā€™s?
We do not become a bad team over night, but we are clearly off form/out of sync. I am really unsure of how we should go about progressing. Do we write the league off and try and iron out our tactics, focusing on the cups? Or do we go with the same system on the hope of it clicking?

Wish a few more of our lads would show the spirit Henderson shows. The legs may be struggling, but the heart is still there.

The worst part of the viewing experience today was seeing our Brazilian lads and their Brazilian lads having a laugh on the pitch at full time.

Get on your zoom call after the game or whatever, lads. But not on the pitch. People paid fucking money to watch that.

I was under the impression it was Kavanagh on VAR but apparently it was England. Doesnā€™t really matter, the result is the same.
As for Oliver, heā€™s gone from being the stand-out referee to as bad as the rest of them. Work that one out.

Did you mean ā€œare you for real or twat?ā€ I suspect spellcheck got you.

Yep, he looked like he was out and the players were really concerned. If he was faking, that was some good acting, but all the signs were that he shouldnā€™t have been allowed to play on?

Can anyone remember the last time they saw VVD make a tackle? He ambles around the pitch with his hands clasped behind his back like an Olympic Dutch speed skaterā€¦only without the speed.

Tackling never been his game even when he was the best cb in the world. Thatā€™s predominantly where the ā€œRolls Royceā€ of a defender came fromā€¦because the fact that he doesnā€™t need to tackle to defend.

OK then, when was the last time he got close enough to jockey someone, shepherd them, ease them off the ball or even look as though he gave flying fcuk

Seriously? Itā€™s down to a couple of individualsā€™ performance? We started with about 8 key players out this season. And multiple other factors have been conveniently stacked up against us.

This is a team challenge that the management and the players will sort out as a team. And weā€™ll be behind them just like in 20-21.

I am really waiting for some player from whatever club says I have enough of your bullshite, knock the ref out, walk off the pitch saying ā€œI have enough of this shiteā€ and walk away in the sunshine ā€¦

Must be a movie in this ā€¦ :j :grinning:

Saurez doesn`t play in the Prem anymore

Are you talking about Luis or Tyranno?

Anyway I could only post now because I was depressed after watching last night game. When we fought back in sporadic moments and got back to 2-2, I thought we have a chance. But then a soft penalty from the penalty on top of one we should have gotten, I wonder when we will ever get through this shit. Having Man City next week can either be the turning point for our season or just send us down further hellā€™s furnace. I hope itā€™s the former. While having coffee at my local coffeeshop, I found myself humming YNWA. Perhaps this is the time that tests really why we are fans of this great club. Itā€™s frustrating, itā€™s sad, itā€™s depressing to see us play and lose. But this club is special, this club is more than about winning games. Liverpool FC stands for alot more. YNWA.

This is what being overly sentimental, negligent, and incompetent in the transfer window looks like.

We are like that fat guy sitting in a pub somewhere chatting shit about how he was great back in the day. Norm was his name, that loser.

When we won the league, I said we really need to bring in a few midfielders because all of ours are getting old at the same time. Fast forward 3 years later and the same fucking midfielders are still here.

Let me ask the fans, if you were Arsenal and you saw a midfield with Hendo who canā€™t get around the field anymore, and Tiago who never could get around the midfield and cant tackle? Youā€™d blitz them for the first 20 minutes, right? Then how the fuck couldnā€™t the management see that shit? Iā€™ve said it before and Iā€™ll say it again; Fabinho is the only midfielder that s is deserved of a starting position for us. All the others should be shown the door or benched. Father time has caught up and is taking no prisoners. Milner should have gone from we won the league, OX, and Naby last summer; and one or two of Hendo/Tiago/ Jones this year. Hendo and Tiago can only be relied on for 20 games a season and Jones has the Handicap Carroll syndrome( He regularly trips over his eyelash and breaks an ankle). Jones has not progressed one bit and really should be nowhere near a team with title aspirations.

I canā€™t even blame Salah, VVD, or Matip. The midfield shields the backline and Salah has got very little out of that midfield. They are fucking awful. This is why it boggles my mind to no end when we didnā€™t replace Gini, Still kept Milner, Ox, and Naby who we get absolutely no contribution from. How do you win when 4+ players including Jones contribute NOTHING to your team? One of the commentators said Pool had 8 pensioners in the teamā€¦Hellooooo!!! Sport is a young manā€™s game. Move the old fuckers into a golden-age home and push this team forward. It pisses me off that it took us 30 years to get back to the top and weā€™re just negligently pissing it away.

Funny how you only show up when the team isnā€™t doing well to peddle your bullshit. Put a cork in it.

Still fuming after that result. At ourselves and the ref, tbh.

Letā€™s start with us. Itā€™s the same team, bar ManĆØ, that has dominated over the last few years but we look like a bunch of strangers that canā€™t be arsed to put in a reasonable effort from the first second. Weā€™ve conceded the first goal in so many games going back to end of last season that I have lost count. Itā€™s become such a reliable eventuality that weā€™re basically starting a game already behind and on the back foot. Positive results just arenā€™t going to come often enough if weā€™re behind in the first 20 minutes in what is basically every single game. Compare that to City who are on it from the off and leading often enough by the 20th minute and often a lot, lot sooner and itā€™s easy to see the difference in attitude when teams play against them i.e. fuck it ā€˜letā€™s just try and not concede ladsā€™ whereas itā€™s ā€˜letā€™s get at theseā€™ when it comes to us. Even then, the getting at is ridiculously simple, let us have the ball to faff around with at the back, pass it to the midfield who passes it back until it gets to Mo who then invariably cannot take his man on and the suddenly boom, 1, 2, 3, Bobā€™s your uncle and a simple third man running takes our static midfield and defence and Ali is going, ā€˜wtf just happenedā€™. Even a pub team like Rangers managed it last week, albeit late in the piece on that occasion. Itā€™s fucking ridiculous.

Itā€™s done the rounds that we havenā€™t refreshed our team which is a bit of a red herring. We have brought in players and others have come through but a part of me feels that while we may have done that, weā€™re still a team heavily reliant on a few individuals to perform and that the middle of the park simply lacks the athleticism refresh that it needed to tie the ends of the team together. That said, our back line is a shell of itself and canā€™t seem to pull itself together to the point where one on one defending ability has gone out of the window along with being able to make effective clearances up the pitch. Iā€™ve lost count of the amount of times that headers have only made it to the edge of the box, clearances were panicked and scuffed back to the opposition or just fluffed altogether. Again, itā€™s fucking ridiculous. The whole lot of them need the biggest rollicking theyā€™ve had in a long time and they, and the boss, need to get their head in the fucking game. Fuck knows what that psychologist has been doing with them over pre season because theyā€™re fucking shaking in their boots for much of the game.

All of the fuckwittery weā€™ve displayed this season was on display yesterday; letting them get ahead after just a few minutes, poor passing, a Mo who looks like heā€™s just about made a passing acquaintance with a pair of boots and a ball, static players with lead in the boots to allow third man running to get in beyond them, dismal defending, panicked clearances (I mean Fabinho just before the third goal, fuck me) and just slow ponderous play that allowed them to run over us that second half. I mean come on now, fuck sakes.

Now then, let me be clear. I do not think we deserved much after that second half performance but how the fuck is that not a handball in the first half? His arm is clearly wafting around near his head, thatā€™s clearly an unnatural position as heā€™s not going into a tackle and it clearly stops the cross from going past him. What the actual fuck? I was incredulous when it wasnā€™t given just as I was incredulous at the lack of interest shown by the commentators or pundits just explaining it away. Football is a subjective sport but that in that instance itā€™s clearly a black and white decision that the VAR should have asked Oliver to look at only for a soft decision be given against us. I still canā€™t believe It. Fucking livid. Oliver reffing the game in the past used to be a sigh of relief but since the Everton game where Pickford assaulted VVD heā€™s been just as fucking useless as the rest.

Conclusion? We were pretty fucking shit and we got fucked over by the officials as well.

This was the handball rule as of the start of the 2021/22 season, and the handball rules supposedly did not change coming into this season:

Deliberate act of handball

The first change centres on interpreting what is a deliberate act of handball.

Referees will now look for a deliberate action on behalf of the player, with an emphasis on whether the hand/arm is in a natural position or not.

How the handball rule has been changed for 2021/22

PGMOL Managing Director Mike Riley and Premier League referee Chris Kavanagh explain rule amendments

ā€œAn arm extended away from the body makes that body bigger, in an unnatural position,ā€ explains Mike Riley, Managing Director of Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), the refereesā€™ body.

ā€œIf the ball strikes that arm, particularly if it is blocking a shot on goal, there is a greater likelihood we will penalise that.ā€

The proximity of the player whose hand or arm makes contact with the ball to where the ball was struck from will still be an important consideration for officials when making a decision to award handball or not.

Given your screenshot, thatā€™s just one I donā€™t agree should be awarded. His arm is not even a fucking metre away from Jotaā€™s foot! I would be absolutely fuming if that was awarded against us. If there have been handballs awarded for something similar this season (have there? Can there be evidence to demonstrate?) then those decisions were wrong.

This doesnā€™t change the fact that Oliver was a nasty little cunt with his refereeing yesterday, and he gave everything against us, but Iā€™m not accepting thatā€™s a handball.
