I’m not sure how different these full backs are from in terms of playing…
how much credit?
the same amount as Ranieri got? or less?
given the starting position of both managers?
Coach ride back will be interesting…
Another 8pm k.o next Saturday against Villa. Oh joy!
Slot has my backing, and he definitely deserves time to get this working.
But the two things that are burning my head out are his approach to meritocracy, and his use of subs.
Mo Salah should not have started this game. He is in absolutely wretched form, a complete passenger, and it is like being a man down before the game has even kicked off. There is general principle that you carry Mo Salah, because despite staying on the periphery of the game he delivers in key moments. Well, hat happens when he stops delivering?
How he stayed on that pitch, after having stunk the game out to that degree, is a mystery.
Well, it’s not I suppose. It’s because he can do that.
I couldn’t even enjoy that moment, because it all that goal does is guarantee that he will not be dropped. No matter how badly he plays he will not be removed, because theoretically he can do that.
Least it’s at home our fans can get home quicker.
Besides starting Ekitike, you could 100% play a team that all started together last season.
Well, that’s just nitpicking.
i dont know how to feel, somebody please tell me how to feel…
Who had zero shots
Slot deserves some credit in the bank because he won the title. But that credit comes with a caveat. He won a title with an experienced, well-drilled team that was crafted by his predecessor. He made some smart decisions, of course, and he deserves credit for doing so. But that credit isn’t limitless. It’s up to FSG to decide how far they want to extend it.
For me, I need to see evidence of the tactical and man management adjustments needed to get us out of this rut. And I need to see it soon, because we’re nearly in November and our liabilities have been evident for months now.
The only way we will really, truly see if this team plays better without him is when he goes off to afcon.
We may end up still being rubbish but it will be very interesting how our form goes.
Our rock solid spine has disappeared. Without Ali, VVD at his prime and a dominant midfielder we are lost.
For some reason the trending narrative at the moment is that he won it with Klopp’s team, which is absurd if we consider that in Klopp’s 9 seasons he won it once, and was good enough to win it two more times, but didn’t do so the other 6 seasons, and most of those he had already built his team.
And Klopp is a total legend without the slightest doubt, made us great again and we won trophies with him again.
So the point is that Slot didn’t win it without being great, or because the team would have won it anyway. He won it because he can do it.
That’s my major concern if he had tried something and it had not worked out at least it would demonstrate a manager trying to work his way out of it.
And whoever is the set piece coach I think they need sacking.
I know it’s a small sample size against a shit team, but we looked liberated in mid week.
I don’t know where to start with that performance and what it bodes for our next few fixtures…CP( who got slot’s number all season long), Villa ( who is picking up form), RM and City ( whose form are not bad)
Sorry, I forgot the two shots we had on target in the second half…
That liberation might have had something to do with playing a team who’d conceded 20 in their previous 5 games.

Yeah, fully agree.
Eldest forward that game was 26.
But will also note on this, Robbo started too which I think needs to happen going forward. Whilst I don’t think Kerkez is the worst out of a bad bunch, we need to go back to some know how and start getting some clean sheets and points.
